Tom, Did you get rain Monday? DH said there was a steady soaking rain all day where he works. We got nada but were lucky last week.

Shari - I got just over 1/2" of rain Monday. It's been dry here ... the rain seems to move either north or south of my area.

First peach of the year.

Pretty peaches:)

That's a bummer about the rain Tom. Sometimes it just seems so unfair. Hope your luck gets better. I have a gut feeling we're in for at least a tropical storm this year.

WOW, what a great looking peach. Cam looks just too happy doesn't he? LOL

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

Cam likes to eat the fruit in our yard. He's been eyeing the grapes but they're not close to ready. I wait for my dog CJ to start eating them. He always knows when they're ripe. LOL. I'm serious, that dog has the grapes dead on.

Can't say i have a lot of peaches this year because of the lack of rain but the first one was tasty.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Such a pretty peach!
Chamthy: I adore that "Let it Rip"!

Another variety of Siam Tulip.

Nice pics everyone!

I have a few crinums and hymenocallis blooming but the heat is frying the blooms. Here's 'Elizabeth Traub' - basically a slightly larger version of 'Ellen Bosanquet'.

Thanks Bev! It's just getting started.

For the daylily fans out there- this is a link to my photobucket albums. I know I've shot the same ones over and over but I can't help it. I mean there is a new one everyday:~)

"Moonbeam" coreopsis.

Hope you Carolina Girls can help me ID this plant. I was given the seeds by my sister and she said just call it "Abe" because the name is so long. So this is
"Abe's " first bloom. I love the foliage.

Last time I checked, I'm not a girl... but... you have Abelmoschus moschatus.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

Ohhh, feminist not interested in a male opinion.

LOL.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Not too bad for a boy, Tom! Actually, I had no idea what this one was. Ornamental Okra, huh? Amazing.

Deb, I love that picture of the 'Moonbeam' coreopsis. I think I need to try that old standby because I haven't had good luck with any of the others I've tried. The voles got the last ones overwinter.

Why, Shari...you should have said something, lol! Moonbeam coreopsis for you at the next ru!...if you haven't gotten some by then.
Tom, you're making me laugh this morning. Def. not a girl!

Thanks to everyone--girls and boys. I love all opinions. Carolina boys just didn't sound right. Was thinking of the song---now you know that I am over 65.
This is a beautiful little plant. Seeds seem to be hard to find so if anyone would like some in the fall just let me know. I love to share --admission of gender not required.

Is anyone familiar with Cork Screw Willow? I am in zone 8.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Is that the same as a Curly WIllow? If so, then it should grow like a weed for you. I have a couple that I put in about 5 years ago and they are nice looking, carefree trees. Be prepared, if you have any neighbors who do flower arranging they will sneak in and prune it for you on a regular basis; those branches are prized.

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

Same tree different name and yes they are nice trees. I've never seen a big one (30+ ft or so) but the small ones are really nice to look at. I see one that was about 10 ft high and every branch twisted and shot all over the place. Nice effect. Can't find a good picture on the internet of what I'm talking about. If I remember where that tree is I'll go take a picture.

Conway, SC

Core,
Is this the same tree?

wooooo way to go! none of ine have any blooms except the plumeria pudica which has 3 inflos and is only white with no smell. does it smell good??

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Congratulations on that plummie!!!!! None of mine are blooming either but they received so little care and no food at all during the remodeling mess around here. I have just started to really fuss with them (and at them.)

My lotus bowl has been making me very happy.

I thought this was interesting. This Formosa Lily had a fasciated stem which resulted in this wierd head. The flowers were much smaller than they usually are and they died off very quickly.

Rednyr: Congratulations!!
Ardesia: I love that lotus bowl.

Pale pink, nearly white version Siam Tulip.

diehrd..it smells sweet...very sweet ...kinda like success LOL JK yes it is heavenly perhaps because I knew it when it was only a stump LOL

Ardesia - your lotus bowl is gorgeous lady!!! luv it....that is def. worth having on the deck to goggle at!

Deb that siam tulip is exquisite! where'd you get it...such a nice picture of subtleT's in pink/white..

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

ardesia - I have had a Lilium formosanum do that too. Also had it happen to a tiger lily (Lilium lancifolium). It's pretty cool! In my experience, it doesn't cause any harm to the plant and next year it should be back to normal.

Deb - I haven't seen a pale pink one like that before - very pretty!

Here are a few random pictures from today. First is Hymenocallis 'Tropical Giant' - not the greatest picture since it's being overrun by Salvia guarantica.

My largest plumeria (no-name mutt) is blooming nicely and has escaped being broken in spite of being blown over twice last week.

Anisacanthus wrightii - hummingbirds like it.

Butterfly on lantana. I've had this lantana for years... the person who gave it to me said it was 'Miss Huff' but Terry/tigerlily123 said it might be something else (forgot the name). Whatever it is, it's survived with zero care, blooms like crazy, doesn't set seeds, and butterflies and bees love it.
