Anyone like this?

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Sometimes I get so restless if I plant a seed or a seedling or plants I buy from a nursery, that I want to see them growing quickly, which is never possible. Sometimes, I feel like going away for a few days and return to see them grown bushier, which is also unlikely. Does anyone have such "restless urgency"?

Elyria, OH

Yes indeed, I just received some gallardia seed, (black eyed susan type, only bigger)and am quite impatient. If I dont get them planted this week, they will not bloom next year. Finding the time is another thing. I really like this time of year because all those little plugs of annuals are now lush and full of blooms...took them long enough :-)

I'm really bad waiting for seeds to sprout. I'm always digging around in the pot to see if I can find the seed and see if it's doing anything!

Impatient is my middle name. Really bad, waiting things to come up.I want it up, and I want it up now, no waiting, but it never happens. The seeds decide to take their dear sweet time coming up.....how slow they can be at times. Think a snail goes faster. Just a good thing I'm not Dr........no patients.
I get very impatient with anything really. When I want something done, I want it done right now....not later. If I'm making wreaths or what ever, I have to stick with it until it's finished and then always messing with it to try and make it better looking. I'm hard to satisfy myself. When I make home made projects, it has to be just right and I have to be pleased with it before giving my projects away and then sometimes I wonder if it is still good enough for someone else to enjoy.

Now you're talkin'about my DH' He
is very "impatient" but learn-
ing' He thinks because he puts in
a seed the next day it should be
blooming,lol'Thanks for the remind-
er CoCo,need to whack my wisteria
today for making winter wreaths,lol
And CoCo,I used to feel like you,"not
good enough for others" But no more'
I consider myself a "artist" If others
don't see thru my eyes,that's ok'Now to
find my glue gun today''

My husband gets a good laugh every spring because I'll sit and just watch a flat of dirt! Those first seedlings seem to take forever and I'm not a forever type of person. If I plant today, I want to see seedlings tomarrow. But then when those first ones DO finally break the surface, it's like christmas.
Isn't it great that we can enjoy such simple things in life?

No, but I do........hehe

Somehow,I figured you would'Lol

You're beginning to know me too well,Sis. That's a scary thought, now. I get very discouraged very easily if things don't go the way I want them.

ROFL CoCo,yer a hoot,gal'' Takes more muscles
to "frown" than laugh,hee,hee,heeeeeee''''

CoCo, my long lost twin!!!! I worry my plants to death! If it's a seed, I sit and watch. If it's a bud, well, there's a well worn path between the front door and them. My DH and daughter just laugh, saying 'it's not changed since last hour'. Hmph!

We used to have a small garden in Florida. I was so impatient and checked it out several times a day. My DH said I was the only person he ever knew that dug up corn to see if it sprouted. I'm glad to know I'm not the only silly gardener.

Shoot, when I used to have a veggie garden, I would peel back the husks of the sweet corn to see how it was doing and tape it back up again. Very slow growing and I was hungry for some good sweet corn....what can I say?:) :) :) :) :) :) I'm smiling, I'm smiling, Sis..;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Ya better be gal:):):):D MEEEEE TOOOO'

Azalea, what you did reminded me of an old Indian folktale where that chap did exactly that! He was the King's court jester and he would report to the king that nothing much has happened each day!!!

Well, these are our babies and we have to give them TLC. the slowest things I have seen are the Moon Vine & Hyacinth vine seeds. I have found that if I scrape them on a rough surface(file, sandpaper or even a rock) then soak them for a few hours, they will sprout faster. Then there is the wet paper towel trick for smaller seeds. Place some in a wet paper towel and put it in a plastic bag for a couple of days. Haven't tried this but sounds like it would work.

I really hate to see all the pretty annuals die :( You work to get them to grow and just about the time they are beautiful here comes cold weather. I did have one annual that came back (maybe reseeding not sure) and it was prettier than ever (Diantus Spelling)
