Love that bloom, Bea!
Bonnie always has plants and seeds everywhere which is good for the rest of us (LOL)
Lin, please do post pics of your new pool with plants, etc........
Kim, glad you had so much fun last night. Jackson's girlfriend is the only one up this morning.........such a sweetheart!
We really had the fireworks last night. Sarah had gotten them from a commercial warehouse in her home state (notice I am not revealing her home).
I was shocked to see such gorgeous fireworks in my own backyard. The boys had so much fun tying different ones together and setting off a glory of fire! I was a nervous wreck most of the time thinking that something had to catch on fire (even though we have had inches of rain these days).
Here they are yesterday on their way to the beach to ride their Jet Ski in the waves. The other couple are on the left of the picture and really nice and fun to be around.
July Blooms, Part 1
Bea: That is a beautiful plant whatever one it is! I will be curious to hear if someone recognizes it. My first thought was a sinningia but I really have no idea. I know someone will be able to ID it for you before long.
Kim: Sounds like y'all had a really great 4th! I'm glad you survived all the rides, LOL if it were me I would probably need a couple of weeks to recuperate! I am a huge chicken when it comes to roller coasters and most rides! Oh, now I am excited about those dish cloth's. I have heard Gail mention them a couple of times! I really wasn't hinting for you to give them to me though. I was hoping you would sell them on the Marketplace!
Gail, What a great picture! The kids look so happy and I'm so glad they are having such a great time over the holiday weekend! I'm with you with all the fireworks ... I would have been a nervous wreck too! All the booms, pops, crackles, booms makes me very edgy! I too worry about fires but I also worry about the folks who are drinking and having fun and shooting off fireworks when they are tipsy or drunk ... always hear of folks losing fingers or worse during fireworks times! It's especially scary when little kids get ahold of them!
Ok, here's a picture of my pool area I took this morning. Still have to move more plants in but will get it accomplished eventually! I'm heading back outside to "play". Have a great day everyone!
Gosh, you pool area is looking great!!! Before long, you have will have your own tropical oasis again.
One big blessing about the fireworks is that no one in this group drinks at all. (and I was still a wreck)..........
Time for a nap I think! Sarah just fixed a fabulous breakfast...............they are off to the beach again...........
what a beautiful pool, you are so fortunate to have it, looks so inviteing. lol

Thank you ladies! We have been in our house 33 years and put the pool in 30 years ago. It was in really bad shape. The bottom was so rough on your feet, to the point of actually cutting the skin. We haven't used the pool in years! My Mom used to really enjoy it when she would come to visit and my nieces and nephews always had a ball in the pool when they were young. We might begin to swim again now that it's like new! Over the years my husband has talked about draining the water out and just filling it with dirt - he said I could have a nice gardening area ... Yeah, right! I told him the cats would just think it was a giant litter box for them to use! I thought about taking the screen room down and getting rid of the pool and just having that all be lawn area again, but our cats are declawed, indoor kitties and that pool enclosure is the only outside they've ever known! I would hate to take it away from them. And, I sure don't want more lawn to mow! That's what I've been doing today ... I just finished mowing, edging and sweeping the front and now I'm taking an air conditioning break before doing the back! We have a humongous driveway that goes from the street to the garage and all the way around the back of the house to another garage! I would love, love, love to get rid of all the cement, as well as lawn and have an entire natural setting! My DH is the one who loves the green lawn! I keep telling him it is bad for the environment, what with all the water it takes as well as fertilizer and chemicals to keep it looking green. He is the one who fertilizes twice a year ... but I am the one stuck with the mowing, edging, trimming trees and shrubs, sweeping etc. He does help a lot if he isn't busy with other projects. Today he is replacing the motor on our pool pump which went kaput a couple of days ago! If it isn't one thing it's another when you are a homeowner I guess! This is the first summer in years that we haven't taken a few days vacation and it's been the most expensive summer we've had in a long, long time! But, the new roof on the house was a Must! and it sure is nice having the pool and deck and all like new. Hopefully everything will hold up for another 6 or 7 years until he retires and we can downsize. I look forward to the day where I don't have to mow a lawn anymore! Especially down here in Florida. We mow 9 months out of the year and during the rainy season we sometimes have to mow twice a week because with all the rain the grass grows so fast!
Well ... I guess I will get back to work. Chat with y'all later.
The pool is wonderful!
Gail, that pic. of the kids and other couple is so CUTE! All so nice looking! Love the doggie picture too!
SO handy to have had this rain before the fireworks, I know that helped you feel more at ease. Sounds like you all had a ball!
I am sitting her with nausea and dizzy to boot. We went to Rockport Art Fest as we do every year. We love going. Not sure why I am ill. I napped and will now sit still.
Hubby went to HEB and he is not vacuuming.
I have a lot of friends from Corpus who went over to the Rockport Art Festival today. Glad you all got to go.
I have been watering inside plants, washing pots and pans and tidying up while the kids are still in Port Aransas.
Naps do wonders for us don't they (LOL)
I have a good one, too, today.
Lin, you are making me tired with you still mowing the yard all the time. But your home looks great and there is no doubt in my mind outdoor exercise is good for us all.......
I wrote that Hubby is NOT vacuuming, HA!!!
I meant to say Hubby is NOW vacuuming!!!!!!!!!!!! He vacuums for me since I cannot right now.
Just had to get that straight!!! He is so sweet.
I have a hubby who vacuum's too, Sally! He is usually the one vacuuming if it's going to get done! He is a great guy! He's good at fixing just about everything and doesn't mind coming home from work to work around the house! We've been married almost 39 years so I guess I will keep him around awhile longer!
Well, I cannot vacuum until at least six weeks after the surgery. Two more to go. Even then I will be very careful. Until then, he will be doing it. He is very sweet, SO many jobs now since I have to take it easy. He planted my flowers I wanted planted yesterday. I usually do all that. He does the mowing etc.
I really can't wait to be able to do all I used to do again!
I used to be very particular and had a spotless house at all times! The older I get the less energy I have for housekeeping. Things may look neat and tidy but don't open a closet door, LOL, or stuff will actually fall out and konk you in the head! ^_^ Now that everything on the outside of the house is done I keep saying I am going to work on de-cluttering and cleaning the inside ... we'll see. At least my house is small, so it doesn't take much to clean it.
I prefer neat and orderly too ... just wish I could justify hiring a housekeeper a couple of days a week! LOL. The older I get, the less energy I have for cleaning ... I'd rather spend all my time playing with plants!
I know, playing with plants, so much fun! I plan what I will do with the violets & with other projects like fairy planters, terrariums, etc before I fall to sleep! Fun stuff!
