I am growing okra for the first time and the seem healthy at 3 1/2 feet tall. I harvested one pod, but noticed the first pods on the other 7 plants growing have failed. The next pods are visible, but will they turn brown and fall off too? Mind you, I'm aware of diseases and fireants, and other aphids and bug problems, but I don't notice any of these on the plant or soil. Thanks!!

Okra needs lots of water. How often are you watering?
I keep the soil they're in evenly moist everyday, plus they are in a special hybrid container that uses a reservoir beneath a 12" layer of medium. The plants all look healthy, green, straight, etc... This is why I'm unsure of the problems. Perhaps, insects that I just overlooked or haven't noticed. Thanks for the reply, by the way..
If you've got a self-watering planter and you're also watering them regularly from the top you may be drowning them. On those self-watering planters you don't water the plants, you just fill up the reservoir when it gets low and it takes care of the watering.
I should not have written that I keep the soil moist. What I mean is the self watering system keeps it moist everyday as opposed to me checking the moisture of the topsoil. Thanks for the replies, too. Anyway, since okra grows fast, I have two new pods since I began this thread. Let's see if I have more troubles or if it was just a bad day for the plant. Also, I do enjoy these reservoir containers. The instructions are easy for a beginner like me, and seeing results has led me to search for new gardening knowledge, and of course, here as well. Thanks again and I'll write again if the problem rerturns. Thanks.
I was hoping that was the case, but the way you said that you kept the soil moist plus you had the self-watering planter I figured I'd better doublecheck just in case!
Now the okra are growing in a bit curved. Root disease?
Can you post a picture? If they look perfectly healthy then it's more likely something like wind or gravity, but if there are other symptoms it'll be easier to figure out what the problem is with a picture.
