I ordered some phlox from park seed, one is a dwarf, and then I got 3 others.
They were supposed to be potted but arrived bare root.
I planted them all in the same way, in a small pot with drainage holes, miracle grow potting mix. I kept the little part that was green above the soil and buried the roots.
Now, the 3 that weren't dwarfs kind of leafed out a bit, but now they are dying.
The dwarf one, didn't leaf out at all and appears to be dead.
I took it out of the pot and repotted it. But there was something that appeared to be a stick that I had buried under the soil, and I left the little bit of green above soil.
Now I wonder if that stick was supposed to above the soil line. None of the other plants had that.
Anyone have any ideas on how to rescue my plants?
Help with bare root phlox?

You can read all the negative comments yourself.
But the bareroot phlox that I had planted took about 3 years to bounce back after I thought they had died also. It's still very tiny but they do come up green. Make sure your giving them enough water and I did part shade for the first 3 years and have moved them now to full sun.
Hope this helps.
