Oregon vacation

(Zone 7a)

The funniest thing, Kiska, was they had to put signs on the propellers telling people NOT to turn them! Why in the world would you want to turn a prop on a working airplane? Go figure...

I know, just crazy, isn't it:)
Fish or no fish, what a beautiful place and way to spend some time.

i've been told that square stems on plants mean they are in the mint family , so if that 1st plant with the red flowers has square stems , maybe you can go from there to id it. love oregon. sally

Celia,
Wow...I am so glad you shared your vacation with us.
What a fantastic view!
Lovely, lovely photos of water and gardens.

I have only seen Sea Stars once they are gorgeous!

Glad you and Darrell got to go Crabbing, bet that was fun.

Very much so. I did get pinched. Once. Never again! LOL

I'll check the stems. See if I can see them.

(Zone 7a)

They are square. Hmmm...

Though plants in the mint family have square stems, I don't know if all plants with square stems are in the mint family. (E.g. - all rabbits have fur but not everything with fur is a rabbit.) They look like pea family plants to me, maybe some kind of vetches.

maybe someone on the northwest forums can tell you. you might want to collect some seeds next trip. sally

That area was in a Nat'l park. No collection possible or I would have. I even had to take the pics from behind a fence.

I did post in the ID forum.
