I am a novice gardener who loves to have fresh flowers in my house. I want to cut some of my coneflowers and daisys but I also love the way they look in my garden. I planted all sorts of zinnias from seed and although they are doing quite well (knock on wood) they haven't started blooming yet. This is my second year at this house. Last Spring was spent weeding (the garden was hideously overgrown and virtually abandoned for several years), expanding the beds, planting a few more perennials and alot of annuals and just waiting to see what came up. The coneflowers were already here and the blooms lasted forever but I never cut one. The daisys I planted last year and they are doing wonderfully. Again, if I cut them, will I get more blooms? Thanks. Kathy
Coneflowers and Daisys-One Time Bloomers?
Daisies will bloom again.
Coneflowers have a fairly long bloom season as long as you keep the deadheaded so using some for cut flowers will have the same effect.
