I recently relocated to South Florida and have started a few houseplants along with a small container herb garden. At present I am keeping all outside as the light is much better. Recently noticed that something is eating my Dumb cane (dieffenbachia seguine) and basil, have sprayed both with an organic insecticide. Any ideas as to what exactly the problem could be? Also, should I move all of my houseplants back inside?
Florida houseplant problem
For now, I would let your plants all enjoy the natural light they are getting so long as they are not shade plants, you dont say where you relocated from so it is hard to tell if your plants are suffering from the new climate they now find themselves in, as for the thing eating your plants, without more info or a picture of the eaten leaves, then it could be many things that have started to nibble the plants, have you noticed any neighbours plants with the same trouble, are they being eaten at night time or in the day as lots of things feed at different times, like slugs, earwigs etc are night feeders on our plants, but other bugs/insects eat in daylight hours, so as I said, more info would help so we can let you have the proper suggestions rather all just guessing, so get back to us with a pic or info. Good luck. WeeNel.
