Power went out for an hour.
Just came on, nice rain for the duration, storm is moving off.

Major downpour here. Then caught the tip of another severe storm on the way to the movies to see Wall-E. Listening to the radio on the way up and they actually used the emergency broadcast system, to warn everyone to take cover indoors and stay away from the windows because of the hail.

About a 10 minute shower just before 6pm--I'll take it .Too cool & grass too wet for garden work this morning. Must weed weed weed.

Had some rain over night, but not enough. I've got the sprinkler on now. I think the rainy season is over. To be honest, I can't remember the last rainy day. We've just been lucky with the thunderstorms producing enough rain.

We had a nasty wind, rain, & electrical storm yesterday--took down trees in many places in town--right into 1 house just across the river from us--2 trees went down around the corner & took out power for 6 hours--closed the main road. We have a generator--which we eventually turned on---but though our furnace is connected, no AC or even the overhead fans---how dumb is that? I guess we're lucky that only a dead apple tree branch came down--however, my garden, which was muddy to begin with, is just disgusting mud! Can't weed--pretty soon the weeds will be taller than the plants!

Storms have been in different spots. Friends in Concord had lightening hit the garage, no fire, but commputer knocked out.

Good morning! Currently 68 with humidity around 80%.

We lost power last night due to a downed tree. When they aren't expecting severe weather, Central Hudson has a skeleton crew. We didn't get it back until 11:30. I was just glad it wasn't one of those nights where temps were around 75 and humid.

Sorry, Lynn--yesterday was about 1 in 5 days in the whole month we did not get rain or a storm. Today is starting out humid--the weatherman said the other day--"we have a bad case of the muggies"--I just loved that expression! I'm heading out soon to weed herb garden--this afternoon I'll be in the art studios A/C!

Thanks, ROBIN. The only fun thing about losing power when the weather is nice, is the socializing that occurs. The neighbors all come out of their houses and we get to catch up. Can't do that too much during a severe storm!

Very warm here now and although there are storms popping up, the humidity has dropped to 54%.

I hate seeing the days grow shorter by a few minutes too, Victor. I just love having the extra light in the evening. Last night as we were walking back home, the lightning bugs were twinkling in the bushes and it really felt like summer. Didn't care much for the mosquitoes, though.

Oryanna was born in Dec. and this one is due in Jan. This will make my 4th grandchild and only 2 out of my 5 children have had any yet!!
