I actually watched these little buggers carry away my new lawn seed...LOL!!! There are several bare spots on my lawn where I overseeded in the hopes of sprouting some new growth. Now I have an ant problem. I've been reading through the various posts on similar issues but cannot seem to find a solution. What works for some may not work for others. These guys are just the common small black ant. It's actually fascinating to watch these guys do their thing, but I have to find a way to rid my lawn of them. Otherwise, no new grass growing! I think now is the time to treat the lawn for creeping critters so what do you recommend? Should I use a granular mix or liquid? Which product(s) have you found to be the most effective? How about the ant problem? Do I treat them separate from the entire lawn? Will the chemical(s) harm the newly planted seed? Ugh! So many questions....I hope you can offer some assistance out there. Thanks.
Ants carrying away all my lawn seeds.....
try Borax sprinkled around their hills. it *may* kill some of the seed, but it will kill the ants.
Thanks jleigh. I appreciate the helpful solution. I will try some today.
