I planted 2 NBJ at two sides of my garden (around mothers day week end), they were growing preety healthy till now . they havent flowered ,thats ok....now all of a sudden on one of the plants the leaves have turned yellow but only in the mid section ....the bottom leaves and top leaves look fine..
before this happened the leaves on this problem plant were kind of drooping ... i thought may be it is getting less water so i gave it more water .... is that the problem...
isnt this the season to flower and spread that intoxicating scent....
I'm waiting...........

need help with night blooming jasmine
Mine typically doesn't flower until a little later in the summer, and every time I've planted one it's never bloomed the year I planted it, so don't worry about lack of blooms. Yellowing leaves are frequently the sign of a watering issue but you won't be able to tell if it's over or under watering without doing a little more detective work (drooping leaves can also be a sign of either too much or too little water). I'd check by sticking your finger down a couple inches into the soil--if it's feeling bone dry then you're not watering enough, but if it's pretty wet still then you need to cut back. Keep checking on a frequent basis until you get the hang of how frequently it really ought to be watered.
Thanks , ecrane3...
when i bought it from the nursery...it had lots of bloom ...probably the shock of replanting in a new place the bloom fell off...
with the summer heat in Houston ... I felt that the plants would be dehydrated.
now onwards I will check on the soil for dryness.
