Can anyone tell me what this plant is?

Somerset, PA

I live in southwestern PA. This plant showed up in my flower bed last year. I kept an eye on it and tried to find out what it was. This year it has come back much healthier. It is happy in my garden that gets all morning sun and not much afternoon or evening sun. At first I thought it was a Maple tree, but this year it looks more like a vine. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks.

I have what appears to be the same plant in my yard. Last year it appeared looking like a vine. I cut it off & dug out the root. Apparently I did not get all of it because this year it has reappeared in the same spot, but looks more like a woody shrub. I don't know for sure, but I have been told that it is a fruitless mulberry. My Texas trees book says that there are many types of mulberry trees & they have different leaves. I have a wild fruiting mulberry, but it's leaf is entirely different from this one. If you check the DG plant guides (sorry, I don't know how to link to them yet) yours and mine appear to have the same leaf as what someone described as a white mulberry. I do know that the one in my yard is a vigorous grower & will have to be removed completely this year because its roots are growing under my gazebo. Good luck with it, and maybe someone else will post a more knowledgeable answer.

It might be porcelain berry vine, Ampelopsis brevipedunculata http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1524/ It's invasive in many areas so you may want to get rid of it if that's what it is. Or maybe a wild grape, the leaves can look somewhat similar. It sort of looks more like Ampelopsis to me but I'm not sure.

Looks like Wild Grape to me. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/191209/ Personally I think it is invasive and chokes my shrubs so I yank it. Guy at work is making wine with the Wild Grapes on his fence line.
