How in the world did you fit any more plants in your car, Allison???! LOL

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Sorry Alison. I think that is unusual.

Angela, glad you'll be joining us.

Again, thanks to all especially our big-hearted hostess.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

like my honey says... if it don't fit.... MAKE it fit

:)

here is my post

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Too bad, Allison, that really sounds awful. What a lousy way to end such a splendid day. I've never been. I can't afford another addiction and it's better if I just stay away!

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

That is really too bad, Allison. I was so looking forward to checking them out. Ending your day on a bad note is no fun! I'm sure the rest of the day made up for it though.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Carrie that place is not accessible... don't waste time going there... to get in the greenhouse i only saw stairs everywhere... and the isles in the green house almost gave me a panic attack they were so tight

:)

so packed tight I feel it wasn't a good place to shop ... hard to see everything when it's inches from your face

and the RU did make up for it... couldn't bring us down!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

That's the spirit!!! Anything would have been a letdown after the first class reception at Kassia's!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

you are not kidding

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Yeah, I'd heard that too, Allison. I don't go anywhere without checking first, anyway.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

For someone in a wheel chair, or a caretaker of a person in a wheel chair, and if they enjoy raising cain, hate and discontent, theres an opourtunity waiting to happen!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I serve on the Disability Commission in my town and help raise funds for various related causes. If someone ELSE wants to sue Logees for noncompliance with the ADA, more power to them. I can't remember the specific terms ... maybe they have to have modified their retail area, and that's why they don't? The ADA is only enforceable through litigation, unfortunately. I don't know what the CT state regulations are. Sadly, it always all comes down to money....

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'll pass! LOL

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Me too.

wants to sue Logees - You will have to deal with Martha Stewart as she mentions Logees alot on her show.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Anna and her DH and I are talking over the possiblity of holding a fall RU here, at our place. I'll keep you all informed, as I know what great planners we all are!!

Right now, it's just a possibility.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

My guess is that it has a grandparented exception to compliance. Like a lot of old buildings.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Candyce, how far, in time, are you from Kassia's?

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Carrie:

I am probably about two to two and a half hours from Kassia's.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

OK, folks, what is this? I'm sure I knew when you gave it to me, but I don't know now. It's marked dianthus, but I'm certain it ain't that. That is, the container is marked dianthus from a former incarnation. What is it though?

To all the RU folks:
I took the day off yesterday and planted all the wonderful plants you gave me. I was touched at the care that was put into each pot. Thank you all. Your plants' beauty will be magnified by the care and friendship that came with each plant.

David

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

It's a dwarf dahlia, Carrie. The color should be written in sharpie on the side of the container...

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh... I thought it probably came from you somehow because of the 'dianthus' connection. Thanks - I can't rush out and check because it finally started POURING!

Atkinson, NH(Zone 5a)

Louise, once your farmhouse is back together it will be a "dream house"...there is something so nastalgic about old New England farms... and the gardens will be an added bonus...

Liza

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Happy belated birthday Liza!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Liza - it is just like an old comfortable shoe. Some of the floors still aren't level and it has its quirks, but it is "home" and we are happy to have it back. The yard is still pretty torn up from all the construction trucks, and the "new" clapboards and porch floor need painting, but Hank put our flags out this morning in honor of the Fourth! Happy Fourth everyone!!

Gorgeous Louise! Happy 4th to you and Hank and Molly!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thank you, Nance! And the same to you and Bill and your fur children too!! We really enjoyed meeting you four!

Our grandsons (3 and 5) are coming tomorrow and Hank took 3 of the "bad" sills from the construction and made "Fort Grandpa" complete with a little tent that has comic books, a huge bear and Grammy's contribution of some chocolate chip cookies waiting inside the tent for them...What fun!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, how sweet, Louise!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I don't think either of us ever got the "kid" out of us! That sign post that's hard to read says "Fort Grandpa"... The boys will probably find me in there reading the comics!! LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

house is looking good.... and we should all hang on to at least a part of the kid in us

What would you call it when you get old and dementia and the kid comes out?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

tough one

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

It means your children have to watch you very carefully.
You are a Kid in an adult body, your children have a certain expectation for your behavior when you were acting like an adult, childish behavior is confusing to everybody. Just remembering my ageing parents not too long ago.
Dementia is the hardening of the arteries in the part of the brain that controles behavior and personality, when those vessels become hardened there isn't a governor over behavior and your True personlity emerges, sometimes that's good ,sometimes not so good.
I realize this is not the response you wanted to read because the best parts of childhood should always be with us and we need to lighten up and not take ourselves too seriously.
Make life fun, weed the garden, have RU's with new friends, love your grandkids,or someone elses.
UGGG this is such a tomb.
Enough Jo Ann

EEEEgad I must have had too much sugar yesterday, what a dreary post.

Looking great, Louise.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Louise ...
the workmen did a wonderful job. No wonder they are booked years in advance. They are a rare breed indeed!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thank you, Allison, Victor and Candyce. Now I can walk around the house instead of rolling downhill from one corner to the other! LOL

Jo Anne - I can relate to your somber post, because my Mom had Alzheimer's and I saw firsthand what you are talking about. But I also agree that we should have fun in life and keep a sense of humor no matter what we are going through. Some bad things are no one's fault, and we can't let the anger and the frustration take control of us. Laughter is so good for us! On my worst day, I could still find something to smile about and too many blessings to count to go down too far. So far, so good, I guess! LOL

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

YIIPE KY YAY for a sense of humor.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Well spoken in the lingo of old westerns!! LOL

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Heck, Louise, that's how we talk now!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I usually just shorten it to plain old "Yippee!".
