RU trade/share list

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i thought i'd start a thread similar to what i have seen in other forums that maybe we can keep to just posts about what we can bring, and what we want from others lists. We can edit our lists to show what we've marked off for someone in particular.
i get confused going through all the posts on the other thread.
By no means does this have to be completely comprehensive.

My "to share" list:

i have plenty of:
strawflowers (you would NOT believe how many): tall double mix (dave47 and anyone else who won't refuse them!)
black peppermint - not for culinary use, smells wonderful perennial(kassia, schicken)
coreopsis "Nana" perennial(dave47, schicken)
liriope: plain, with purple flowers. unkillable.perennial (dave47, primrose sue, carrie, flowerjen, schicken)
blue pimpernel - anagallis monelli - the picture with this post (pixie, carrie, onewish)
dianthus: firewitch perennial(carrie, candyce, eglantyne, schicken)
dianthus: bath's pink perennial(candyce, eglantyne, schicken)
basil: sweet (flowerjen)
oregano perennial(eglantyne, schicken)

some:

cupid's dart(slow growing, but it is a blue flowering perennial - maybe someday it will be big enough to bloom) (schicken, onewish, eglantyne, dave47)
dianthus: "Sternkissen" (eglantyne) and
"Tiny Rubies" perennial(carrie, candyce) i can do tiny divisions of these ittybitty dianthus
dill
dusty miller "Silver Lace" if i can separate their little roots. (carrie)
marigold "Disco Mix"
cosmos "Summer Dreams" (onewish?)

and a limited amount (2 or 3 each) of:
dwarf dahlias -1 red, 1 yellow (carrie, onewish)
victoriana dahlia - colors unknown so far
gazania: pink shades (primrosesue, donniebrook)
red basil (carrie, eglantyne)
amaranth "Early Splendor"

seeds i can bring that may still be worth planting:
cosmos "Summer Dreams"
sunflower "Vanilla Ice"
sunflower "Evening Sun"
dill: fernleaf
basil: sweet
morning glory "Bright Eyed Girl"

(and i will bring an unrooted tarragon cutting for Carrie.)

late additions:
four o'clock "Limelight" (2)
verbena "Homestead Purple" (perennial, 2 small divisions)
bird's eye gilia tricolor (seeds were a surprise from pixie - and i love the flowers!)

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Amy, sorry, we can't come. I thought it might happen, but perhaps if there is one in the fall. It sounds like quite the gathering. Have fun. Patti

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Michaela, does claimed mean you have none left, or just that some are set aside for the people named?
If you still have some, i'd try some verbena hasta.
Also magenta rose campion if some are left over- i like the ones you gave me last year so much!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

"Claimed"' is a note to me - when I run out, I will post. I have baby magenta campion rose - that okay?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Michaela, do you have a link on that verbena blue flowers for shade?

Amy, I'll take some red basil and some more unkillable liriope (I killed the last batch).

Whoever had the interesting-colored creeping phlox, I'm interested

I am bringing lots of Silver Scrolls, Purple Palace and NOID with pretty flowers heuchera, NOID Monarda, Coreopsis moonbeam, lamium white Nancy and "red" Nancy, spearmint, pale lavender creeping phlox

annuals: extra impatiens and begonias, a few extra coleus (I forget - Scarlet King maybe? I bought them at the supermarket. All my rosydawn ones died except one which I am nursing back to health - sorry Candyce!)

That's all I can remember for now - still digging...

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Amy, can you specify what "nana" is with respect to your coreopsis? Carrie

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Here is the link for verbena hasasta

http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2302/

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

4 ft tall? Constantly moist? In my next home, I'm sure I'll have a boggy meadow leading down to the pond, but in this one, I don't think I have space for it . Have you grown it? Does it really like to be that damp? We do have a spot in the shade that needs to be filled in, if it could make do once established.

David, is Marshall's Delight the shorter red monarda? (I suppose I could look it up myself!) And which anemone?

verbena hasasta - I like them.

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

I have a whole bunch of leftover seeds. (annuals)
I think some are 3 years old. (maybe even more)
Some are store-bought, others were harvested from my plants.
I don't know if they are still good or not.
I can't bring myself to just toss them away - which is why I still have them. :oD

There's sunflower (assorted), nicandra (shoo-fly), hyacinth bean, red runner bean, morning glory and a whole bunch more I can't remember off the top of my head.

If anyone would be interested in looking through them, I'll bring them - along with some baggies.
Even if you don't use them this year - try them next?

If they grow - great!
If not - hey, they were free... no big loss.

Let me know if anyone's interested & I'll bring them all up & you can pick through them.

Nancy

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

No, I have not grown it, Carrie. I did winter sow seeds and boy, tons of them germinated. I have planted many in the north garden of the terrace, and some I will plant in the back of my shade garden.

As for constantly moist . . . it's going to rain here all week.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I'd be interested in the hyacinth bean seeds. I'm bringing seeds, too.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Hi - this is the hall monitor saying,"Please minimize chat on this thread to keep it as easy to keep track of what we are bringing/asking for as possible!"
(ducking tomatoes thrown my way...^_^)

i asked admin if they could make this thread allow unlimited edits, but they can't. Sorry...

Yes, Michaela, baby rose campion is fine.

Carrie, don't worry, i don't think i brought any liriope last year... "Nana" is the cultivar: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/55040/ i think you re bringing me "Silver Scrolls"heuchera, "Moonbeam" coreopsis, and lamium.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I have
6 tomato plants(no idea what variety they are)
zinnia seeds

Is it safe to divide daylilies now?????
If so, I have a bunch of Stella D Oro.

Carrie, I'll take the silver scrolls and lamium
Seandor-poppies
Amy-basil and liriope.

Anyone have any other shade plants????

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Amy, I wish ALL my coreopsis were already 'nana', but no more, thanks.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Anna's DH just came home with the largest maountain laurel I have ever seen. He went and pulled it up from a property that they'll be logging soon, and brought it home. There are at least two 'branches' with a sort of root system that you guys can plant into the ground and baby for a while. Anyone want them?

http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1201/ for a description

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I have a shrub to offer, I'll look it up, it's related to wintercreeper but it doesn't creep and the leaves are variegated.

http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/55631/

That's the closest I can find. It's really green and white or silver, not gold. It's very slow-growing and can be pruned. What I have is about 6" tall but well-rooted - DH nipped it off with the lawn mower last year and stuck the wounded clipping in with one of my containers.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I would love a piece of mountain laurel

:::::: big cheesy grin ::::::

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Mountain Laurel: Allison

Magenta Carpet Phlox: DonnieBrook

I also have:

Daisies:
Siberian Iris:
Yellow Flag Iris:
Purple Lilac (smaller than saplings, but they'll do OK)

And there are two of the Mountain Laurel left. I mis-counted.

I think that's it, but I am so sure that I have forgotten something.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Is carpet phlox the same as creeping phlox? If so, I'll take some, if there's enough. I don't know Siberian Irises from other kinds, but I like the not too tall purplish ones.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i would be interested in the mountain laurel, but i am afraid i'd just kill it...

Jen - red basil or the regular kind?

Did someone have catchfly on offer somewhere? i'd love some if it is still available.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Carrie:

I believe that carpet phlox and creeping phlox are very similar, if not the same thing. So, OK. I'll bring you some, too. And I have you down for some Siberian Iris.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'd like some Mountain Laurel!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Thank you, dahling! (I had to answer in my best Zsa Zsa Gabor voice, which isn't very good. No idea why.)

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Okie Dokie, Celeste! You've got it!

Man, it sure feels good to be able to give something back to YOU!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thank you, thank you!!

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

Hmmmm... if there's any left, I'll take a mountain laurel.
If not - don't fret.

Nancy

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Amy- the regular kind please.

I also may be getting some hot pepper plants and some flowers(tbd) from another DG'r that's not coming to the RU.
I also have a Washington Hawthorn from Arbor Day Foundation http://www.arborday.org/trees/treeguide/TreeDetail.cfm?id=8

Gardiner, ME(Zone 5a)

David,
If you still have any garden phlox left I would love to have some and also a anemone if you have any/one left please ?

( I participated in a co-op and all of my phlox died. They were very small to begin with but I tried ) I was not happy about it especially about the phlox 'David' .

I will get my list together withhin the next 2 days, have the house full of family and grandkids and dogs :-)

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Nancy:

It just so happens that I have one Mountain Laurel left, so it's yours.

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

Thanks, Candyce!
Now I'll have something to put in the pot the day lilies are vacating.
:o)

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Oh no! Patti, I'm so sorry to hear that you're not coming. You will be missed. I was really looking forward to meeting you.

Harper

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Amy:

I forgot to mention that Anna and I would love to take some of the dianthus off your hands.

Patti!! I was so looking forward to actually meeting you. Oh darn!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Patti is a wonderful lady - I had the opportunity to meet her at the Arnold Arboretum in May to smell the Lilacs. Patti, there are no pix with both of us, are there!!

Gardiner, ME(Zone 5a)

Patti,
I was also looking forward to meeting you, have read your name so many times in Co-op's.

Candyce,
You were looking for the person who requested common daisies on the other thread. It was me.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Eglantyne,
Got you with phlox. I may get anemone too.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

David, your link to nbluestone doesn't work. Do you have another link to the anemone?

Here's Marshall's Delight:
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/53102/

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Carrie, you are too kind. You didn't tell them that I tried to get you stuck in the mud. No pictures of the two of us, but have one of you with DH.

I am sorry not to be able to meet many of you too. We have to be in Vt on Friday and then we have tickets to go to Tanglewood to see Garrison Keillor as we try to do each summer. It starts at 5:45 on Sat night. So it would be too much driving to go to Vt on Friday morning and then back to Framingham on Sat morning then back to Tanglewood by 5 then to Vt for the night. I am car sick already.

More food and plants for all if I am not there. I would be swooping in on some of those great plants everyone is listing. Sounds like it could be like the June wedding dress sale at Filene's. Patti
