I am sitting here looking at my 6' foot tall 'Madame Butterfly' that is potted up in my computer room. Three buds out of 17 are ready to open in a day or two :*)

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Looking forward to it... That's a lot of buds. wow.

I located my Red Dutch that I thought were MIA!! lol

'Midsummer's Eve' and Red Dutch are both wonderful. Good old faithful Grand Cru is just starting to bloom today. Always a bright addition to the garden.

Peach Pixie is a lovely blend of colors and multiplies rapidly for me.

It looks like it, doesn't it? Didn't the picture show a much richer burgundy Moby?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

The only pic I've seen of it is quite red and the pistil is a different color. http://www.lilynook.mb.ca/images/Asiatics/ML'sNights-Desire.jpg

I can't wait for my Eudoxia to bloom!

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

I guess I am too eager to give the benefit of the doubt to the society sales. You are right, it's an almost but not quite in many ways.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Just for fun..
Here is a 'Geisha Girl' planted last year, measuring over 7 feet with twelve buds. Can you tell which one she is in the background?

She's the one reaching for the sky ;)

Wow! That's great!

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

This a bulb from a trial I did in 2003 for a grower. It never got named, at least not that I know of, but it comes up each year and is slower to multiply. I like the colors, reminds me of a sunset.

Oh my Mags!! way cool.

Moby, I'll take your NOID. ;)

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Those buds look kind of blotchy on the 'Night's Desire' maybe it is my eyes...

My 'Geisha Girl' and 'Painted Lady' planted in April never broke ground :*(

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Love that one, Mags!

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Have you done the "digging test" yet? I know curiosity killed the cat, but I would have to know. I had a couple no shows here from fall planting, dug around carefully and there they sat, like somebody forgot to tell them "Hey! It's time to get up!!"

Thanks TLC ;

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Not yet. I did go after 'Angela North' & 'El Sol' and found them rotting. I have 5 others not up yet aside from the ones I mentioned. I thought this spring would have been good for them with the cool weather. Oh well.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

'Angel North' is really small here for me this year, after last year being luscious and perfect. It must not like wet soil...at all in fact. I need to move it to a sandier spot. I haven't had a lot of choice whether or not something gets too much water this year, if you know what I mean.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Andrew, your eyes are working fine ~ I don't like the looks of the buds either.

Can't wait to see your GG, Mags. Mine is still pretty short this year.
This Tango - Halloween is going to be in bloom for a good long time.

Curious...Any thoughts on what those blotchy buds may be indicative of?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Possibly nothing, possibly virus. We'll see as they go along.

Oooh I like that Chippendale. Beautiful!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Tehehehehe, 'Chippendale' heah? Nice. Here is my very first 'Silk Road' Oh I wouldn't mind having a .... say 10' x 10' garden of nothing but this one lily!

I know this is supposed to be for pretty ones but can anyone tell me what happened to SILKEN?

Thumbnail by TwinLakesChef

And how about LILIANA Dwarf Oriental? lack of water?

Thumbnail by TwinLakesChef

Yesterday BLACKOUT bloomed.

Kind of looks like the bud tips on 'Silken' didn't let go and the flowers should have opened a few days ago.

intercessor,
maybe they got physically damaged?

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Gently pry the buds open and let nature do the rest. I have some seedlings that needed a little nudge.
