It grows like a weed ( it is not) and it is very pretty but I cannot remember the name and the marker was heaved out of the bed over the winter ! Thank you.
Can Anyone ID This Flower Please ?
Looks like an Oenothera (evening primrose) Some of them do tend to be weedy but some of them are a little better behaved.
I was going to say sundrop, but then I looked up evening primrose and found this page that says EP blooms at night and sundrop in day. I didn't know that.

I agree--I thoughtit was an evening primrose, too--although some people around here also have a similar flower they call a buttercup.
I say Evening Primrose, the way to tell is to go out in the evening, Dusk, and smell the flowers, the give of their perfume in the evening and they are used for all sorts of health problems from menopause to helping with arthritic bones made into tablet form, that is the plant made into tablet form, not the arthritic bones, ha, ha, ha, WeeNel.
Yep, it's Evening Primrose. I used to have a single patch of them, divided and transplanted them in other areas around the yard and some of them are now going wild. I didn't realize how much they'd spread and fill in areas!
Thank you all....yes they are most assuredly the Evening Primrose.
I had a couple of seedlings come through the little fence in front of them in Spring and I pulled them out and planted them in several different places. They are now growing well and blooming !
