DAILY PICS-VOLUME 119
Splendid pics, everyone.
Bbrookrd, I'd be a little concerned if a vulture landed outside my window.
Burn, look at the expression on the face of the Osprey. Wonderful. And you garden looks lovely. Is the stream at your place?
adelbertcat, I given the responsibility of a retort to the Aussie Woodpecker to my husband. Await same. Hopefully it will be worth it.
Kookaburra outside the kitchen. Be very careful if you're ever having a picnic or barbeque with these birds around, they'll snap a snagger from your hand before you can blink.
cute Kookaburra. Wasn't there a cookie called a kookaburra?
Nice Turkey vulture. So let me tell you this story.
DH and I are in Mexico (Los Cabos). We're not much the resort type so go looking for different things to do. Since we had a 4WD jeep, I told him I'd like to go to a remote place up in the mountains. You had to pass a military checkpoint just so they knew you were up there in the mountains. So we set off… there's no one around. Pretty soon there's a cow on the side of the road. We keep going and going… nothing. Then we start seeing the turkey vultures perched on the cactus. It reminded us of a Bugs Bunny cartoon (so many things do). "Gladys dear, look… Lunch!"
Wonderful pics everyone!
Thanks for starting the new thread burn; love the Osprey!
Hi bbrookrd, Good one of the close Turkey Vulture.
Great start to the thread guys!
Nice shots Al!
Koala Cookies
Happy birthday Pelletory, a day late. Birds galore and no weeds in your garden, ever. Patti
Stunning markings on the Song Thrush, kniphofia. Do they live up to their name?
Beautiful Heron, bigcityal.
Kookaburra cookies! That's so funny. Haven't heard of Koala cookies either. If they were Kookaburra cookies, they eat themselves.
The Indigo Bunting's colour is breathtaking.
Great pics kniphofia! Love the Song Thrush!!
Cute little Blackbird knip! Last year mine were all brought to the feeding station, lol, cat food. Haven't seen them anywhere this year except I know where their nest was.
The Song Thrush has the most wonderful repertoire, very lengthy, varied, and quite loud too. I am priveleged to hear it most of the day! The Mistle Thrush usually comes with it's young later and takes over, similar song, they are territorial where there is a good stock of berries. The Song Thrush I have seen lately more on the perimeter of my garden and on the neighbours TV antenna, the Mistle Thrush arrived a while back to make it's nest.
The Green Finches visit the nuts, this male wasn't aware I was squatted nearby but soon saw me!
Their cute wallaby!
Pelle - I didn't know you had a birthday yesterday! Congratulations on completing another year! Here's wishing great things for the one ahead!!!
Margaret, I think Kookaburra's were sold by the Girl Scouts here.
Caramel Delites (formerly Samoas)
Vanilla cookies topped with caramel, toasted coconut and chocolate. The second best-selling Girl Scout cookie and among the top five best-selling cookies in the U.S.This cookie replaced Kookaburras – rectangle-shaped treats made with wafers, caramel and chocolate – in the 1980s.
