I know this may be hard to do without a photo but maybe someone can help me. Last Mother's Day, my daughter purchased a hanging basket for me. It had very full/thick long vines with green leaves on it ....they were kinda fuzzy. It had NO flowers on it. When she gave it to me....the vines were about 1 to1-1/2 feet long, but by the end of the summer the vines were about 3 feet long.
Then, in the fall the ends of the vines began turning and growing upwards and got a bunch of little (fushia) flowers on them which later turned to seed (which I saved). It was an awesome sight to see.....
I didn't think to take a photo of it. I looked and looked online trying to find out what type of plant it was but couldn't find it.....at that time I didn't know about this website.
TIA....Von
What kind of hanging basket - No Photo
Did your plant look anything like this one?
(Plectranthus ciliatus 'Zulu Wonder')...

You got my hope up Nifty413....LOL....mine didn't have the shiny leaves or purple underside and it draped in long strands.....some of them being 3 ft long by fall. THANKS for trying though.

Do the flowers at least look right? There are a ton of different species of Plectranthus so if the flowers look similar maybe it's a different species.
I didn't think of that.....I think you've put me on the right trail....I've looked on a site that shows about 26 different species, but only 2 of them had photos.......the 2nd one I clicked on looks almost identical to mine.....I'm including a couple of photos.
These first 2 pics (I'm posting here) are "Plectranthus argentatus" it has light green leaves...and almost a fuzzy feel to them. And if you'll notice the stems on the 2nd pic looks identical to mine.
I'm going to keep looking to see if I can find a wider shot of it.....maybe even in a hanging basket.....if I do, I'll post it here.
Thank you so much.....
