I have a good sized back yard to start gardening with, but wanted to try some different stuff, too, so I bring a question: has anyone ever planted beans or sugar snap peas as a hanging vine?
I can't imagine that it would not work, but wanted to check. I figure that a nice sized pot so that there is good soil for the roots, decent drainage and a macrame planter should do the job. Basically, hang the planter off the side of the building after planting the peas and beans, keep it watered, and just let the vines hang down and do the small jungle thing.
I'm planning on about 12 of each planter full as a fall harvest, right after moving to the new house in July.
Is there any reason that this would not work? I'm not 100% used to plants in planters, but I've grown peas and beans in a 'regular' garden forever.
Hanging Peas and Beans
I can't tell you that it would work but I can't see why it would't. I think it is a great idea.
