Best of luck to you, Fancyvan!!
Don't know how many catagories there are, nor how many you entered, but you shall surely win many of them :-)
This is "Majesty of Gaia" - so appropriate for your garden, Fancyvan........
What's Happening in YOUR neighborhood today #5
Any news yet..belated Happy birthday as well...is it you Fancyvan who has the truck bright yellow?
Anyway someone on this thread does, my DB Bernie and his wife Charlene visited today and she brought hers...she did the body work herself and painting..only thing my brother did was the wood fibreglassed and hydrolics for the box cover...thought I'd share..
Not my truck Betty - I drive a sedate green Saturn!
Just got the competition results.
I entered 8 classes ( there are others but I dont qualify) and placed in 5.
1st in Open Midsize Garden and Plant Lovers
2nd in Seniors and Shade
3rd in Veggie Garden.
The ones in which I didnt qualify were Perennial ( which I though I would place in rather than Plant Lovers) , Containers and Curb Appeal ( 4 years ago I got a 2nd in Curb Appeal)
Of course no matter what I or friends might think you dont know what your competition is .
Anyway I am pleased as I lost a lot of plants this year and the long cold and then wet spring meant that lots of plants that should be flowering now were not even up full size .
I still had some peonies in bloom! Of course there were also other things blooming now which would normally be finished.
CONGRATS Fancy :-) I think you did wonderfully well!!!!
The truck in question is owned by the gardening fella in BC .. his name escapes me .. just remember his pooch was unwell a bit ago ..
Betty your S in L truck is awesome :-) Would imagine she likes gambling LoL
I am calling it a day .. a very CHILLY windy day (we didn't even hit 65 F) !!!!!!
Busy day ahead tomorrow ..
~M~
Congrats to Fancy. You did really well.
Marilynne - those temps must be getting really discouraging!
And welcome back to Betty.
Still spreading mulch here, but it rained all morning and part of the afternoon; so I didn't get into the garden till after dinner. Having been away, I spent a bundle on groceries. The DGtwins come tomorrow for a few days and we needed to stock up on lunches for the day camp they are attending.
Need to reseed things in my veggie garden. Something - maybe the neighbourhood groundhog - munched my beans as they germinated. I wasn't here; so couldn't spray them with the strong garlic and hot pepper spray. It seems to have worked in previous years.
Also need to reseed a few other things and do a bunch of weeding, hopefully before the tour on Thursday. Will hit a couple of garden centres tomorrow to see if there are some colourful annuals left for a few spots.
Ann
Congrats!!! (again) Fancyvan!
Joanne
P.S. this thread takes a looooong time to load, even with high speed internet. Time for a new one?
Congratulations Fancyvan! You worked hard for this and it's nice to see it paid off.

SAy .. if anyone would like a few hundred (maybe thousand) mosquitoes, raise your hand and I'll send some along to you !!
Big article in our local paper about the little pests .. seems since our summer (?) has been so late in starting, the mosquitoes are now twice as anxious to sneak a few pints of blood !!!
Temp today is 'supposed' to hit 24C .. then the rest of the week, not much above 21 C. The furnace came on this morning at 5am.
Heading for town early .. gotta do the shopping gig and few other "put offs' from last week .. have I ever mentioned my middle name is 'PROCRASTINATION' !!
Enjoy your day !!
