chilean glory vine not germinating

Carbondale, IL(Zone 6a)

I'm new here, but I have a problem that I hope some old hands might be able to help me solve; I've planted at least one and a half packages of chilean glory vine seeds, but to no avail. I am paitient, I do know that they take a while to come up, but I started them after first frost! I keep 'em moist, and here in So. IL it is very warm, and very humid. What am I doing wrong?

My seed to bloom book says to soak the seeds overnight and provide 70-75 degress there after. Germination takes 30 days. I don't have any hands on experience with this one. Did you plant them outside in the ground? If so... maybe the ground was just too cold and they rotted?

Poppy, what's the name of your book??

"From Seed to Bloom" by Eileen Powell. It's a great book for seed starting. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0882662597/qid%3D999180758/104-5254119-9347101

I have a spinoff comment in relation to Poppysue's comment...PSue's book says to soak seeds overnight, then plant at 70 F..it usually means that the soaked seed will swell, then it needs immediate warm temps for 30 days to germinate. Maybe the problem was that the swollen seed rotted/died from the temps not being warm enough after initially soaking and planting, since you mentioned starting them after first frost(too cold and uneven temps) and not in summer (base temp is at least 70F).
