dogwalker, I am no siberian expert, but I have waited for many to bloom the second year in my garden. But worth the wait. NOID blue sib. Patti
Garden PhotosPart 15!
Chuck, im no expert either, Polly K would be better suited to answer.
However in my experience I find most do need at least a year to settle in before blooming. I've had those for over 5 years, there is the dark blue/purple, yellow and a light purple all in that bed. Thinning is a MUST this year. I meant to get it done this spring but I went to Florida instead! LOL
Patti I like the odd ball TBI...maybe you have a new wave Iris there!!
Thank ladies, you take good care of me.
Chuck
Very nice shots this morning. Shelly - it's the larger one - Snow Queen. All three of mine have started - Snow Queen, Snowflake and Pee Wee. I still want to get the gold one.
Lucky you!!! mine are thinking about it :-p
I have to look at last year's photos to see if they're early this year.
Great shots ladies! Keep 'em comin'!
RC - We've been socked in with fog and rain for two days and I can't stand it. I can't imagine how it was for you with all the rain you had and flooding to boot!
Happy 17th to you and yours Victor.
Thank you Nance.
Thank you Celeste!
Victor - yes to the 4 for the price of 3 clems thanks to your alert. Needed to replace a Franzika Maria that did not make it last year anyway. I actually found the "dead" one when I dug the hole and it was 1/10 the size it was when planted. I just planted it next to the new one.
got two 2's and two 3's. and experimented by planting one at the base of a redbud.
Allison, the Sea Breeze is beautiful especially with the scabosia(sp?) behind it! Lovely soft colors on the Delph.

thank you... hate to say it but that wasn't planned
:)
i absolutely love that delph..... only it's second year out there.... got it from garden crossings... it has become one of my favorite plants
Pink and blue...whats not to love?? LOL
I am with ya
Yes, I second that. Nice combo, Allison. Also like the delph. Is that 'hummingbird mint' Agastache 'Golden Jubilee'??
going to have to go out and look if the tag is still there.... not sure off the top of my head... sorry
do you know what might be eating it up?
No - it's been pretty care-free for me. I'll take a look at mine. They seed themselves all over the place if you don't deadhead, but I still like them.
ge - i saw your question about clem types. check out this link it is from the site where victor and i get our clems from.

And this one too - probably the single best clematis site on the web - at least for looking varieties up. I use it constantly.

no tag Victor... I think I bought that one at a fall sale at one of the local nurseries last year... the marker I have there is blank... must have not come with a tag
Certainly looks like though:

nice clem link victor - the brits are so polite even on a web page:)
Debbie has a few photos on there.
yes it does.... no big deal to deadhead...along with my butterfly bushes... if it spreads a little no big deal... can't wait to see blooms
:)
Both the foliage and blooms smell great - like licorice. I have read that the flowers are edible but I would triple-check that before considering it. I think GC had it in their description. They're very easy to start from seed too. The seeds are very tiny - that's why they will end up a fair distance from the mom plant.
After seeing the referenced clem nursery I realize I have been labouring under a dillusion.
I thought it was the shrub type not the clem type.
Thanks guys.
