The mystery plant. Guess what?
Garden Pictures
Too much sun! sigh. It is soooo dreary here.
Your mystery plant is so exotic!
Note to self. No taking pictures in the full sun. Neo, the sun will be your way soon. It just got here about a 1/2 hour ago.

Isn't it difficult to get a good shot at midday.
I try to shoot in the morning, late afternoon (The Golden Hour) or on a bright overcast day.
Either long shadows or no shadows seems to work best it seems, but your photos still look yummy to me!
No sun yet, but the wind is picking up
Great pix of a great garden, as usual, Willow! Love the mystery plant and have no idea what it is (but I have the excuse of being a newbie!)
No it's not a hosta. I bring the flowering maple in for the winter and it blooms all winter in the jacuzzi room. South facing window.
Willow great pics.
In the first shot with ? plant, to the right is that a Dutchman Breeches?
And is ? plant a form of a lily?
Willow, you have some wonderful structures in your garden - very interesting.
No Dutchman's Breeches, but it is a type of lily.
Well that narrows it down ?
So what is the plant on the right? first pic.
willowwind...beautiful garden & pond. I won't even attempt to guess what your mystery lily is. (but curious beautiful spotted leaves) I can't even keep mine straight. Poppy Headding is adorable. Cute face!
neofarmer..I was saying the same thing today as I was trying to take pictures mid day. The sun makes things very difficult. It is hard to even see the view screen. The colors are so vibrant , but it is hard to see in the view finder to see if your focused. Had some really bad shots today. Some were ok..by pure luck I think!
cocoajuna. Nice shot of the coral bells. I have some too. Great flower on a windy day like today...just swaying ..but hard to get a great picture. I tried..but no luck.
This one of my Nicole rose came out nice ..sun and all. She is just a very photogenic rose sun or clouds..she is the best.
Patricia - Did somebody guess Calla Lily. That's what it looks like to me, but somehow I thought we ruled it out . . .
It is a dachtolariza. Very cool swamp orchid. I might hace beat up the spelling but very cool I have a few that I bought from heronswood years ago. Beautiful purple spotted flowers. You have a treasure. Heidi and Dragonfly
No fair! Heidi shouldn't get to guess, 'cos she knows everything! ;)
GGK you have it correct. We call it a Pineapple Lily. Sort of 'out of this world' style.
Hi WW My eucomis don't have spots on them. very cool. I do see the eucomis in it. is it called bicolor? See neo I'm not always right learn something everyday. Heidi PS how doyou do the smiley face again?
Nice garden shots, all of you. And I am quite jealous of all your great garden spots, Willow.
Rob
Heidi - hold down the shift key and then type the ^ followed by a - followed by another ^.
Nice job, GGK!!
I don't know if it called bicolor, but when it blooms it is cream lined with a thin stripe of purple.
It looksk kind of like spent bulbs. Cyclamen will sometimes do this . . .
That is weird, have no idea what it is.
Its Cyclamen, I have 3 diff. kinds. and that is what they do, this is the rest period. they will flower next, then leaf out. that is the cycle.
Thanks for your help on this one. I have had cyclamen before..but have never seen this. Strange looking to say the least.
