can I get my honeysuckle to bloom all summer or only once?

Northwood, OH

I have a gorgeous honeysuckle vine entwined with a rambling rose vine all the way up my trellis and it has bloomed. Is there anything I can do to keep the honeysuckle blooming (like deadheading blooms) for a while or will it only bloom once a year? Please help! Also is jasmine just as easy to grow as honeysuckle? I would like to try that next.
Thanks,

All the honeysuckles I know of only bloom early in the summer. There may be some hybrid I don't know about that blooms longer. I have a jasmine vine in a large pot in a northeast exposure that's 3 years old now. It has been a very easy to keep vine and wasn't at all difficult to get started. I used plant tie to train it up the trellis and I keep it pruned so it doesn't outgrow the trellis. I used to have another jasmine on my patio in a northwest exposure but the cold winter wind and terribly hot summer sun killed it.

This description says that an after-bloom shearing can keep it blooming. I don't know if this work for your variety however.

Sorry, I didn't realize how old this post was. I wouldn't have responded.
