Love the pic of the Purple Finches bathing tiger. What a cutie squirrel!

Wonderful pics Grasmussen, love the baby mallards, so cute! Proud mommy too.

Sweet Wren pelle, it spotted you!

This was 5 days ago, it's cold and damp today so catching up. A Blue Tit landed on the peanuts, and you can see the squirrels have decimated the silo! A moment later another Blue Tit circled around it, that's the 2nd pic.

Nice pics gardenpom!

The Blue Tit on the feeder flew off, I think the other one was one of the young asking for food!

Yes, juvenile European Starling.

I had just about decided that nobody was going to use the new oriole nectar feeder I bought to replace the broken one. Finally, this week they seemed to find it and figured it out!

Not a good pic but....

nanny- like those Orioles would leave any good nectar to go bad!

PERTH, Australia

Lovely images all. Nanny, why is the Thrasher so named?

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Not really a problem since the hummers have figured out how to work this feeder too!

I think if you saw a Brown Thrasher in action you would know why they were named. I used to have one around and loved to watch it throw leaves and debris all over hoping to catch a bug.

Such nice pics on this thread.
I love the way Brown Thrashers mimic the other birds, sort of like mockingbirds. They are so pretty. Pom, those are nice shots of the grackle family. Pelle, love the house wren. Wallaby, the blue tits are great.
This robin was splashing up the bird bath.

This is the House Wren I have been photographing flying out of the light where she is nesting. I think she is tired of me pestering her! lol

Nice pictures everyone!

I'm currently up to 50+ gambel's quail babies this year, with more new hatchlings showing up all the time.

Here are some of the first hatchlings that have reached about half their adult size.

And, here are some of the more recent hatchlings. These little chicks were so cute ... not any bigger than a walnut.

Thanks pelle and bebop, I love the second Robin pic!

Jane, sweet little chicks and a protective mom there.

Anyone want to see the preening gland of a Blackbird, lol.

Some might remember the Great Tit I had earlier this year which had lost it's lower breast feathers. It's still the same but looks to have a little more black feather covering.

You can see the extra thickness of the yellow feathers in this pic.

I took a few pics yesterday of some House Sparrows flocking to the nuts, they had brought the families I think. It's funny to see how they watch other birds fly in or out. It was a very dull day so they are fairly dark.
