Setting up the portable speakers outside....listenin' to Willie duet with Dillon. Can't get any better. American Heartland. Just a little vino and relax. Wish you were all here to enjoy.

Houston Area Plant Swap and Social Potluck and Supply list
Hi Princess
Hi, Randy. Willie is a rogue that has always hit me where I live. No one, no one, has his sound. And the poems he writes and puts to music....well, just the best.
PK
Second only to Willie, is Lyle Lovett. They are both poets and the music secondary to their talents. Not your usual honky-tonk country music. BTW, Lyle is a scholar cum lade graduate of A&M. I try not to hold that against him. lol.
Christi
Yes I agree..both poetic for sure..
I have an old jutebox and it is full of Willie and lots of the great oldies of past (not the honky tonk kind, I don't care for). Some of the 45's have gotten broken but I try to protect them.Makes me want to put in the .25cents and sit back and enjoy.
jana
Oooohh....an old jukebox sounds wonderful.
I too like Willie....and Waylon. I like to venture out and put my old Eric Clapton on. Newer stuff.....I dig Dave Matthews.
Ahhhh....
Randy, etc.
I looked on the "Sticky" and didn't find a date for this reprise event! I dropped in last year with some bottles of wine, intending to come back later after the tour and never did make it back due to my problem daughter...but would love to make it this year if the date is good for me.
If not, y'all have fun. I'll attend vicariously by reading all about the yummy food and then look at the pics later.

Hi Connie....cool...

I'm coming (by myself, I think) and I'll bring slaw (a very delicious one)
I'm new to this. Should I bring 1 pound plus or 2 pounds plus?
1 lb probably good. I think there'll be a couple slaws there .
Do we need to bump this up maybe?
^
Oh speaking of bumps- since Mike and Christi won't be at the swap, Mike was our brisket chef. So I'm going to plan B. I will order one, however Wayne and I chatted last night about welcoming small main dishes- doesn't have to feet the entire lot..no themes...it could be chinese..oh..and I do hope Linda will make it to the swap. Shall I get Brian prepared to be you greens helper again?! My mouth is watering just thinking about them.
Are you saying I should do a bison roast, Randy?
If he's not sayin' it, I am, Bill! Yummmmmm.....
OK. I'll do a couple. It will be like Christmas in July, I cook several for our annual Chistmas party at the restaurant.
whaaaaaa, whaaaaa,whiiiiiinnneee
Want some cheese with that?
Really Bubba? How many does that feed? I'll supplement it with some other type of BBQ.
Very cool, thanks!
It should be about 10 pounds, plus the veggies if I do 2. Should feed 25+ easily.
booooohhhoooooo. Not fair!
((((((((((((((Christi and Ann))))))))))))))))))))) I'm so sorry the two of you can't come. :-(
We might have to plan a road-trip soon, eh?
A bison roast sounds exciting and yummmmmmmmmmmy!
Tabitha
I'm not going to make this one either. I'll be in Iceland, but will be thinking of y'all. Have a couple of glasses of red for me, will ya?
Ann and Cristi, I hope your surgeries turn out well and you're kickin' high again in no time.
Crow
Ooooooooooohh I've never had bison so this will be a treat! Can't wait to try it Bubba.
Adding my prayers to everyone else's that surgeries go well for Ann and Christi. Have a safe trip Crowelli and be sure to take plenty of photos to share with the rest of us. I, for one, know I'll never make it to Iceland. So will have to dream and live vicariously through you.
Janet
Crow, have a wonderful trip to Iceland. Unfortunately that was never on my list of places I wanted to see. May have been mistaken. Never wanted to see Alaska, either, but I think I missed another one. Went on a rivers cruise of Russia and except for the food that was a delight.

Just a funny side note...
Anne... Brownies/Beverage
People often get my name wrong, but usually they guess something like Margaret or Melanie (Apparently I don't look like a Marylyn, and those names start with the right letter...) I also occasionally get called Diane, because that's my sister's name. LOL This is the very first time I've been called Anne... I kinda like it! ^_^
LOL....I was having issues..because either Ann, or another Marylyn is not coming...and I just couldn't figure it out..I had Marylyn..then I thought..naaa...she's not coming..put Anne..
By the time I'm done, I'll be going....potato salad, meet Brownie...no...that's Brownie Beverage, not Brownie Chips,,,that's another ...LOL
Too much sun!
Be sure to get a giant tea from Chicken Express....
LOL, Randy!
and Crow,
Don't bend down to reach for any chewing gum from your purse, or you'll miss the ellusive Blue Whale!
Gymgirl, are you bringing greens, please, please, please?
:~)
I saw them on the other thread. (Houston Swap n Social Attendance list)
Should go great with the bison roast and a wee bit of Circle S vino.
I'm still able to handle the "freight & delivery" if anyone wants to order some. DW and I will supply a couple of bottles.

Bubba, I think I still have a couple of bottles that I can bring, also.
If anyone is wondering what to bring, or having a difficult time deciding:
I'd say the biggest need is drinks:
Gatorade - powder or bottle
Water
lemonade
Ice Tea
These are items that will replenish and refresh the body.
Couple of changes to what I'm bringing:
I forgot all about this pretty drink dispenser I received for Christmas...it holds 4 gallons so, I'll make 4 gallons of iced tea and bring that. Can someone bring an ice chest full of ice?
Foodwise, I'm bringing baked beans, stinky cheese and crackers (for the wine tasting), peach cobbler (mom) and mississippi mud pie...I might not have enough room in the car for the potato salad when I add the plants, people and chairs. So, does someone want to bring something in place of the potato salad? If I don't hear by Thursday, I'll try my best to wing it.
Just a reminder that everyone should probably spray themselves down with Off or something like it. The mosquitos are vicious in this whole area right now. I'll bring an extra can but I'm not sure it'll cover everyone.
