Houston Area Plant Swap and Social Potluck and Supply list
I can bring fruit salad.
Okay...will be good to see you Nadine! I'm going to have Wayne invite Jerry.
Cheeses & Circle S wines, here.
mmmmm
I'll bring a double batch of Sherry's Corn Cassarole, if I can come get my dishes fr last yr. lol
LOL..ok
Yep, will be good to see you too...LOL...
Drooling on the keyboard already - lol.
Connie and I will bring paper goods and cups. We've been stocking up on napkins at the local goodwills. ^_^
Edited to say: We'll try to NOT bring the ones with Santa Claus on them! HAHAHAHAHA

I'll ask Ashley to make a dessert. She just got the new America's Test Kitchen Cookbook. It has some really awsome recipes.
I'll bring the caramel brownies again, and some kind of side dish to be named later. :-)
Mike is smoking brisket and ribs.
Christi
Sounds like there will be alot of brisket! MMM
I'm bringing a bib then, but y'all will have to git yer own! HAHAHAHA
Janet, I have been saying for years that we are leaving money on the table by not making it acceptable for adults to wear bibs...at home and away. Ever looked around watched how many are dipping their napkins into the water glass and trying to clean the front of their garment? lol Guess we should design some and send them to the Hollywood celebrities, see if they could kick it off.
LouC
You may be on to something there Christi.
HAHAHA There's a guy that works with my hubby. Waybigo guy! Sometimes I join them for lunch. I've never left the table but that I didn't see him wiping some kind of sauce off the front of his shirt.
I almost think that's why ties were invented for men - its really a male bib.
and to brush crumbs off the table...hmm ...ties..useful after all? News at 11pm
Since it's barbecue - how about I make a big ole' batch of potato salad and baked beans?
I live over here in Katy just north of I-10. Can I come to the "do" if I don't have my hip replaced instead? One or the other would have to take precedence. Need the hip but would rather play instead.
Ann
Hey Christie....any way you could write down how to smoke a brisket? My parents have been wondering how to smoke something since they moved here...it is a southern thing to smoke meat. Up there all we do is fire up the grill. And there doesn't seem to be any instructions or cookbooks anywhere. Their biggest question is how do you keep the fire going for so long?
:) Kim
Oh dear, Kim. I'm not the chef in this department. I will have to get my husband to tell me the basics and then I will be glad to help. He's not here just now. Will send a d-mail when he gets back.
Christi
There is very little fire needed when smoking. You want to burn the wood down to coals. Coals produce more smoke for a longer period of time than does fire.
Sure Anne come on down..I can give you all the hip replacement advise...some good Dr.s to try out. Both of mine are titanium!
sorry put this on wrong thread.
I will bring 6 2-liters of drinks. 2-coke 2-diet coke and 2-7-up and a 24 pk of water. And possibly a side dish.
Blessings,
Sandy ^8^
LOL I did, too, Sandy! I'll bring Dr. Pepper and some other non-adult beverages. :-)
I will bring something sweet, probably a blackberry buckle and a side dish.
Tabitha
Since we're having brisket and ribs, I'm thinking we'll bring some Creole green beans and probably a Sopapilla cheesecake (some may remember that one from College Station) I'll try to remember to bring some water as well. RJ, you going to have an outdoor air conditioner set up? ;) Jim
edited to avoid repeat.

Ann
hahaha....LOL..I hear ya.
Yes Jim, outside airconditioner will be available. Say...I have some land for sale ..it's a little swampy...interested?
I'll bring some homemade coleslaw.
Let's see .... swampy land...... OK I'm thinking Taros and Irises and Pitcher Plants and ....
oh well, I'm so broke now I can't pay attention much less for land... thanks anyway. :)
LOLOLOL
So, should I bring a box-fan and some extension cords?
Yes please Bubba...I have 3...but I think I'll set up something on the front porch too.
Looks like we're starting to head into the rainy season now, where we're getting a douse every afternoon...so it's cooling things down
We had a lovely rain this afternoon. Quite noisy actually! I love to hear it raining because I know I won't have to drag out the hoses.
Well, I lost the original site I was on when the lights went out.!!!!! I can't find it **** I had just said "It is raining" then BOOM!!! gone,,, I was so glad to see the rain**** but I never expected the hail/ sleet or what ever it was !!!!
I know.>I was fiddling with the sugar cane..when hiiiiiissssss BOOM! nelly scream..ruuuuunnn...
