I recently purchased a few 'Mystic' dahlias. I've never had a dahlia and later found out that you have to dig up the bulbs for the winter. I don't want to do this (lazy.) Has anyone had success leaving their dahlias in the ground for the winter? I'm in zone 8.
Dahlias
DeeCee_4, you probably wouldn't have a problem leaving them in the ground in your zone. I've heard it's not the cold but the rain that gets them. if it's really wet in the winter in your area, I would say lift them. if not leave them in the ground. if you lose them, you could always buy new ones, Jim
