We are building in western region of North Carolina and I discovered this wild rose (I think) on our property. Would someone possibly know what it is and if it is native or whether it is invasive? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Trying to find identity to this rose ???
Is it a shrub or climbing? Sally Holmes is a vigorous grower. White like this and sometimes with a more yellow eye.

Our nursery grew Sally Holmes this year and it didn't look quite like that. Plus, why would it be growing in a natural setting? That looks an awful lot like Multiflora Rose to me: http://www.main.nc.us/graham/wildflowers/White/Multiflora%20Rose%201%20(Rosa%20multiflora)%20Rose%20Family.JPG Unfortunately it's an invasive species and considered to be a noxious weed. http://www.nps.gov/plants/ALIEN/fact/romu1.htm http://environmentalblogging.org/?p=754
Thank you QuoiMerrie and plantfreak78, you have saved the day. I did google the suggestions and discovered the multiflora rose is my newfound weed... I am moving to a new environment and am trying to be environmentally friendly with plantings, yet would like to be as maintenance free as possible. Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Thank you again.

I just hate it when what appears to be a pretty wildflower turns out to be a weedy invasive species. And there are more of them out there than most people realize.
