Lawn turning Yellowish

Wauseon, OH(Zone 5a)

Can someone please tell me why my lawn is not a deep green but a light tent of yellowish?

It's been in the 90's for a few day, I have not fertilizer my yard this year yet. My font lawn looks great it is my back yard that looks yellowish. We been have rain right along 3 to 4/10 and yes some 1/2 inch and inch also.

I did get some fertilizer today to put on it.30-0-6 hopeing that that will help.

If your front lawn is doing fine, can you tell us more about what's different between the front yard and back yard--are there more trees/shade in one than the other, is the soil different, is one more/less sloped than the other, does one get a lot of dog/kid traffic and the other one doesn't, are they the same kind of grass, anything else you can think of? It could just be that it needs fertilizer but I suspect that there may be some other conditions that are different in the backyard vs your front yard that are making it harder for the lawn to do well there.

Yes the fornt has trees and the back does not. The yards on both sides are green, the one uses fertilizer and the one does not. No kids. Same leavel of ground. Same grass. We have a house dog and he is alway in fornt.

I don't know a lot about this but my boyfriend owns a lawncare and landscaping company. Alot of his properties have that yellow tint you are talking about - he had told me that it is the weather - with all the rain we are getting and the heat. He fertilizes his properties and it helps a little but mainly he said it is just the weather.
