Ooooh a girl after my heart Carla! I was just lamenting the loss of Pooh again the other day. Can you just mail it or is it too big? I've only lost two planted tubers to rot so far, so I've got room (and if I didn't, I'd make room!) Then if I can grow it, I'll send one to Tilly next year.

Your irises are gorgeous! The light one looks the palest lavender to me- just as Neo described- a drop of purple in a bucket of white. Very pretty.

Nice macro shot Mary.

Buckeye, AZ(Zone 9a)

LOL Poochella, it is too big, remember we thought it wasn't going to produce a stem of any kind! I will run out and get a picture and email it to you...

It is hard to describe "Silverado" it is neither color or both, I think it depends on what it is next to, it takes on the color of its surroundings.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Carla - are you referring to Mandevilla? Big bright pink flowers - also comes in a darker pink, red & white, but harder to find.

Poulsbo, WA

Actually that was Mary who made the comment about the drop of purple.
Also, Mary, that is a really nice macro. New camera?

I doubt it is growing here, but I instantly thought of the giant bouganvilla plants
I saw climbing trees in Hawaii.

From Wikipedia. . .

Katy,
It was Oneanjl wanting to know about the vine, and I wouldn't have a clue what would be in bloom right now in CA?
In AZ it would be bouganvilla, they are everywhere down there...

Poulsbo, WA

Oh, I didn't see that Oneanjl was in CA, so it could be anything that loves sun, eh?

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

okay, I feel like an idiot now! lol! I went for my daily walk today and kicked myself for not bringing a camera again...so I decided to actually cross the street and get a good look at this flowering vine that I have been oogling for so long... and it IS a bouganvelia (sp) the same exact one I already have growing in my front yard...except mine doesnt bloom quite as much as the ones I see on my walk..LOL!

And, I dont like the thorns on it...so now I am off to look for a new vine :o) LOL!

Buckeye, AZ(Zone 9a)

Those thorns can do alot of damage I bought and planted 3 for my mom last time I was in AZ, but bougainvilla are beautiful, especially the peach/orange ones!

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I should of thought of that, live there for so long, been here to long forgot LOL

No Neo, same one just playing with settings, now watch I'll never find it again, story of my life, forgot to write it down ^_^

Poulsbo, WA

So I actually guessed right?! How strange that bougainvilla actually just popped into my head just from the description.
I remember photographing one that had climbed to the top of the tallest tree. Stunning.

Tils, we should get together! I want to see all of your plants, and I could check out your camera if you want.
I definitely need to get some vine maples to you before the 16th.

Buckeye, AZ(Zone 9a)

Kathryn,
I wish you had the time to come to this side of the water, you are welcome here anytime. I have a very nice guest room! I would love to have you come teach me about my digital camera... I do get some good shots crawling all over the ground...lol

Poulsbo, WA

Sweet offer, I just might have to take you up on it sometime! With goats and bunnies, it is hard to go on vacation anymore. I have a guest room and guest bath that are probably the nicest places in the house, (wouldn't let hubby go in there ;) ) but I would have to blindfold the guest just to get to it. Oh my what messes I have made. The living room has been turned into a seed sorting factory. :) The kitchen is slowly emerging from being the goat recovery room, and my bedroom is stacked with everything needed to make goat milk soap. Another massive sidetrack for the ADD girl.

Buckeye, AZ(Zone 9a)

LOL Kathryn, you have the same problem as I....3 dogs doesn't make travel very easy...lol If you need an escape just let me know, you can bring the critters with you...we will keep them separate from the dogs...that could be a disaster!
Lucy, the minpin is a ratter! Ricky the Rott will follow her even if he doesn't know what is going on, Desilu the chihauhau is the easy one she does what I want her too...lol she has no choice she can't come up or go down the stairs on her own...lol
Calgon is waiting,
Carla

She has such a beautiful garden, and home. I wish I had taken pics of the wonderful things she has made and the decor inside, I just love it. Just didn't feel right about invading her space, I will let her do that, but outside is fare game, LOL

It was really warm today, I took a break in her green chair.

Wow Tills at least you remembered to take pictures...when? must have been when I wasn't looking... The pictures are great, you need to email them to me so I can add them to mine.
It was a fun night and day, you will have to come back and we will do this again! I can't wait to see pictures of all your new flowers blooming in your yard!
I am a little pink on my nose...lol must have been that golden orb we kept feeling... The dogs found a new friend too!
I took a picture of the cushions you brought for me, they fit perfectly on the arbor bench and the chairs! I got the wind chime hung you can see it in the apple tree if you look closely. The other picture I took of it after I hung it was too bright...Again thanks so much for the gifts and more for your company and the fun we had! We will do this again...
I have to admit I am pooped! It will be the first time in a long time I go to bed before midnight...must have had too much fun...lol
Night night and thanks again....HUGS!
