Hi everyone. I really did not know where to post this but I am having problems with setting up my tradelists. I am not sure where to put what. Let me explain. On my have and want list when I input my information....."in box 1 it has thumbnail...in box 2 it has plant name...in box 3 it has cultivar...in box 4 it has....plant, seed, root or cutting...in box 5 it has PF link....in box 6 it has, status.....and box 7, action.
Ok, I input my information....example, ......genus (what goes here?) I put in sedum Pork and Beans.
I don't know what to put for species. For cultivar I put Pork and Beans.
Box 1 is blank, Box 2 says, "Pork and beans sedum Did you mean: No cultivar? (Correct)", Box 3 says, 'pork and beans', box 4 says, "Seeds, Plants, Roots, Tubers and Bulbs, Cuttings", box 5 says, "Not found", Box 6 says...well it has a green star in it, Box 7 says, "Disable[ Edit | Delete ]Picture"
I know there is a pork and beans sedum. I saw it in plant files.
I just really an new at this. I don't know what to put in genus, species and cultivar. Please help. Don't mean to seem like an idiot.....but feel like one.
Thanks,
Stephanie
Newby and I need help with setting up tradelists....
The trouble is that pork & beans is the common name, not the cultivar name, so the system can't find the appropriate match in Plant Files when you put it in as the cultivar name. There are two ways to get it in there correctly, first would be to put it in there with the correct Latin name, which is Genus Sedum and species rubrotinctum. Then it should recognize that the plant is in Plant Files and things should work fine for you. The other option which is often easier is to go to Plant Files, find the plant you have/want, then if you scroll down towards the bottom of the entry you'll see a link to add it to your have or want lists, if you do that then it automatically copies the correct info into the genus, species, and cultivar fields.
Oh gosh! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I guess if I had looked more I would have seen I could just add it from the PF. So much information here.....Thanks again and again.
Stephanie
