Charlene- I do not know which plants your discribed wanting a name.

There are lots of native stone here. Only problem is getting them. It is not like they are just sitting there waiting to be picked up. Ask Emmagrace's DH on getting them. Tough job.

Come see me when you can.

Tyler, TX

Just wondered if any one has all of their plants planted that you got at the RU? I've planted a few but it's been too hot for me outside. I'm keeping them watered and in the shade for now.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Yes, Phylis that is it. I have one that I got from someone at the College Station RU. I love it! I just found the tag for it and it is the Zebrina HollyHock. I can't wait until it "invades" as I will share it with Beck and anyone else who wants it.

Beck, I know you will want one and I luv you sooo much I will give you the first seedling.

I am exhausted and going to bed, but before I do:

Bang! Boom! Boom! Swish bang! Happy fourth!!!!!

I'm almost done with mine ..have a few more to find spots for yet but I moved about 13 of my rose bushes to a new area so I ma filling in those spots with the new plants.
But then I have DH helping me too even though he grumbles he really enjoys it I think.

Do you need some help getting things planted Shirley? ya know I'm just out on 2661 and summer school is over and school doesn't start until around the end of August.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

How beautiful Charlene! Mine are puney little things but I was excited to see them bloom. Glad to know they will reseed.

OK...my DH took loads of pictures and I tried my best to get them loaded in order that made sense...but NO! You can't sort them and they go where they want to! I don't have anyone named on most of them, but will be happy to add names later. I arrived late and didn't meet hardly anyone!

I have them on my blog / diary so if you CLICK MY ID and look at my diary about 35 pictures await.

Tyler, TX

Thank you Phyllis for the offer. That is very thoughtful of you. I'm going to wait until it's cooler to plant a lot of mine. That will give me more time to decide where to put all of them too! I just wish I had 1/4 of your energy.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

well if you need help please give me a holler even if it is after school starts as I will have my morning run and be done by 9am then not drive again till 2ish unless there is a field trip that they give me.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I am waiting for an overcast day to plant some of my goodies. I just hate to put them out in this hot hot sun.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

My DH made me some watering beds for my plants that aren't going into the ground just yet. He just made a frame and sat it on top of 6mil plastic and used clamps to hold the sides up when we folded them upwards. If it gets too full of water from a rain (which would be a miracle) we can let the clamps loose to drain it. Otherwise, I can put the water in and keep them from drying out so fast and they are really looking better for the trouble.

I had brugs that I thought were dead that have made a comeback due to the water baths they are getting. Stuff that looked limp is now perky and happy. I am happy too, as it is so much easier to water things that are in pots in these water beds than trying to water individual pots. The water goes right through the pots the old way and now it gets water from the bottom and I spray the top also. They plants love it.

I plan on doing my more serious planting in October when it is a bit cooler.

For now I planted mostly natives that can take the heat. I moved a lot of things up to a bigger pot. I put out annuals that will hopefully give me some seeds for happy returns in the spring. I love DG!! I am learning so much and getting to know so many wonderful people. Life is good!!

Just watched the aTyler news about the shooting over there in Flint. Hope that wasn't too close to you or wasn't someone you knew. Lot's of people in small towns never lock their doors at night which should be a no-no in todays world.
Jameso

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

james nope wasn't near me at all
we don't live in flint...strange but gresham and noonday are between us and flint ...not real sure why our address is flint.
and as for the doors locked came from up by Rockford Illinois so I always lock doors home and cars anyone that needs to get in my home has a key and if not then they have to wait for me to be home.
thanks for the concern :)

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

I have always heard that a lock only keeps the honest people out. We lock at night in hopes of at least slowing down any dishonest attempts to get in. In the daytime the dogs alert us to anyone approaching so we don't lock then unless we go to town.

Trips to town are rare these days, but when we go we are gone all day trying to do what we would have done previously in several trips. We even freeze milk and bread, so we don't have to go in for that.

Charlene

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Charlene... TY back up there in the posts for offering my a lil zebrena... I saw yours and really loved it! I guess we are just crazy.. or want to live in the old school... we never lock our doors unless we will be gone over night... and DH has even gone and left everything open.. when we came back from running from Rita everything was unlocked ... so I check all the doors myself NOW....and of course if I am here by myself.. I DO lock the doors at dusk.... keys are in the ignition....I guess we figure they can break a window just as easy... BUT we are 1/4 mile off the road too..

OH.. and Phyllis..... just gotta toot your horn again.... that is ME tooting it for YOU...lol You are such a sweet girl.. trying to help everyone you can... stars on your crown!!
