My onions were looking so good, but something is eating the onion and leaving the stalk. I thought the wind had blown a couple of them over, but when I tried to stand them up to pack dirt around them, the onion was gone, eaten right up to within an inch of the green stalks. There are obvious little teeth marks. We do have moles and field mice and there are holes around the onions in the dirt. Mouse holes, maybe? These are good size onions already. Thanks.
What is eating my onions?

Thanks, exactly what I needed! We've had an ongoing battle with the moles for several years and now seeing signs of winning that one by lack of tunnels. But I've noticed the voles and field mice are really thick this year based on the number of holes in the garden rows. This is the first time I've seen anything eat the onions, so was really surprised and not sure what was eating them.
