I know that sounds like a stupid question, but I don' know what a cultivar is. Can anyone shed some light?
What is a cultivar?
As far as I know the word comes from cultivated variety. It's basically a subset of a species that has a set of traits that can be propagated.
While I take much Wikipedia with a grain of salt, it is usually good enough to get the gist of what an idea means.
