Optimized by ribicon.com slowing pages down?

I will click on a forum page the last couple of days and it loads ok, but I can't scroll or click any links. My progress in the toolbar says "opening page http://"optimized-by.rubiconproject.com/adrevolver/banner/etc. etc" It takes it forever to load before I can actually use the page I'm on. This appears to be some sort of ad server site? Anybody else notice this?

Not here...I clicked on a bunch of forums and paid attention to the addy at the bottom, nothing like that is showing. The site is actually pretty speedy today.

I have JO and actually had an add come up right in the middle of what I was looking at. That is a pain. Just started that today. BEV

Well I changed my preferences to get rid of ads and that seemed to work. I don't mind unobtrusive banner ads, and understand their purpose, but if they are going to interfere with the page downloading they gotta go!

I get right in the middle of reading a forum and it locks up and wait a little then by itself scrolls all the way to the bottom and I lose it. What gives??

Thats what it was doing to me. It's something to do with the ads. I went to my prefs and changed it to show no ads or sponsors and it solved the problem. I hate to do that because I don't mind supporting the sponsors to support the site and keep it cheap, but it was interfering with posting, not to mention really annoying!

Sure! Go to My Tools up there at the top. Then over on the right click on preferences. Then again on the right click ads. Uncheck Ads and Forum Sponsors and hit submit.
