NICE!!! And beautifully grown H. compacta!!!!

(Zone 1)

Really nice, Sunshine! That H. compacta is gorgeous! Can't wait for mine to bloom!

San Francisco, CA

Jan, you started off the month with a great Hoya, I love pachyclada.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

OT...but if I had a picture of Paula I would post it...as a beautiful flower! She sent us a box of Bob's favorite: Oatmeal raisin cookies!!! and he hovered them up immediately.

Thank you everyone.

(Zone 1)

Oh that was so sweet of Paula! Oatmeal Raisin Cookies ... my favorite! I don't make them very often because my husband prefers Chocolate Chunk. Usually the birds and squirrels help me devour the oatmeal raisin since a batch makes about 4 dozen!

Hey Paula .... come on, can you post a photo of you? That would be great, a photo of you holding one of your lovely hoyas. I love threads when people post their photo's so we can put names to faces of those we chat with regularly here in the garden!

That Pachyclada is indeed a beauty! As are the others!

My cv Joy has opened its fourth bloom, you can see from the leaves that it's getting a lot of morning sun.

This isn't a bloom but a very interesting leaf that is growing on H Fungi. It's cupped....

This was a cutting that I took from the round robin last year, it is rooted and doing very well now, thanks to who ever put it in the box, I love it!

Thanks Jan, a close up would show the bloom much better but I'm loving the leaves just as much right now! LOL

Another shot of my "cupped" Fungi leaf, it is so cool! ^_^

I think I decided that my Multiflora is really Javanica ...... but I can't remember the reasoning behind it, anybody care to help me out?? It has a lot of green to it's bloom which I really like.

Your plants look happy & healthy. The CV joy leaves are just as gorgious as the flowers. The cupped fungii is cool looking.

Brenda, your multiflora and mine looks same. I think.

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

I pried open each of the H Greenii blooms I had left when they started to drop. They were pretty inside! LOL

Anybody have any idea why the blooms wouldn't open on their own for the second time in a row??

These few have remained even after the abuse of prying them open!

~Brenda

edited because I spelled Greenii wrong again! ^_^

Jan do your blooms look more of a lime green in person too??

Our photos do look the same with the yellow showing up more..... They are beautiful blooms regardless, one of my favorites for sure! I like the easy ones. ^_^

Brenda, Wow! I love the color of the foliage in cv joy! Really beautiful, and such a dainty pretty flower too. And, oh how neat is that cup shaped leaf on h. fungii - looks like a calla lily! I really like the lime green color in the blooms of your multiflora! The only one of those I have is multiflora and my blooms were white. I've never heard of javonica but if that is the version of your multiflora, I really like it a lot, very different with that lime green coloration.

Brenda, amazing plant and photo! (of 'Joy')

Cape Coral, FL(Zone 10a)

Brenda, yes mine looks lime green in person.

Jan,
Congrats' the mendorensis is amazing. A true delight!!

Brenda,
Love the greenii. Didn't know what the flowers looked like.

Cape Coral, FL(Zone 10a)

Ric, Thanks!

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

Thank you Mark, I'm proud of that plant (and the picture) right now! ^_^

I can certainly see why you love that mendorensis Jan!! The color is gorgeous! The blooms that look like they have "fluffiness" to them are my favorites right now!

ricfli I wouldn't know what Greenii's flowers looked like either if I hadn't used my fingers to pull each one of them open! LOL Don't know why they don't want to give that last pop to open for me but I'm glad I forced them before they all fell off. I went looking for pictures of the blooms when it first budded up but couldn't find any??

Lin too bad there is no scent with the Multifloras huh? H cv Joy has a slight spicy but still very floral scent to it, it's nice! On the other hand I had to move Sheperdii out of this office as it was much too pungent even with just a few flowers!

~Brenda

(Zone 1)

Oh, mendorensis is so cute ... looks like it has little "whiskers" or "icicles" along the edges of the blooms! Love the color too.

Check out this site.

There are pictures of multiflora and javanica. It has the flowers and buds. It's David Liddle's photos.
It may help you to figure which one you have.
I think mine is H. javanica

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

imadigger thanks so much for that link, I would definitely say mine is Javanica too after carrying my plant in here and comparing it closely with those pictures .... shorter and fatter buds before opening and then longer and thinner blooms after opening up ....

I had a second umbel with open, and closed buds like yours so I snapped new pictures ....

Side view of Javanica .... thanks again imadigger, I'm going to re-label for sure this time ....

Sunshine, the mindorensis is still a 'sparkler'. I love it. ^_^

Mountlake Terrace, WA(Zone 8a)

That is another beautiful plant. Man oh man, there are so many beautiful flowers right now. I just saw Sprekelia formosissima a plant in the Amaryllis family, and thought it was the most beautiful. Now I see H. mindorensis sparkling in the sunlight. Wow.

There is a whole lot of flower porn around right now.

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Beautiful full healthy looking plants Lin!

Isn't the DS 70 the one that Snowrose thought smelled so bad she gave it away? I like the sound of butter! LOL

Your second one is Krimson Princess and she is beautiful, love seeing the bloom. Mine is growing like crazy but no sign of peduncles forming at all!
