Spring Blooms - Part 12

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Candy, I like your phlox. I just got some 'Candy Stripe' (pink/white) that I'm going to plant in my butterfly/hummer garden.

Sharon, very pretty! The shape of bush is really nice. I'd like to get one but my next-door neighbor just put one in.

Louise, gorgeous purples...yum!

Hey, Dave, you're the last person I expected to run into tonight. I'm glad you're here. I'm OK. I haven't been around much lately, but I promised Kassia I would try to do better LOL. Besides, I have to see what everybody is up to now that REAL spring is here.

Poor little ivy-leaved MG's blooming in the house waiting for the gardener to take them out and plant them.

and 2 little killdeer eggs in the rocks by my pool. there are now 4, but I didn't want to aggravate the poor birds by taking another picture. for those of you who don't know killdeer, they are very excitable and noisy. they do a 'broken wing' act when you get too close to their nest to distract you (the predator). I have assured them that I allergic to eggs, but I don't think they believe me LOL. These are very entertaining birds. We have had them nest here before and the hatchlings are adorable...not naked and helpless, but like chickens. they can walk shortly after hatching (as soon as their feathers dry). the little guys look like they are drunks walking on stilts.

I haven't been around very much either. It is good to "see" you! You still grow nice stuff.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

I expect you do, too. and don't take many picture ;0)

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Still not big on pictures, it's true.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

wow you guys were busy last night.... great shots everyone!... Venu it does look like pams choice

I still feel pooped out after being out at a pig roast yesterday... the good news it was under a huge pavilion and we didn't get wet... it was a perfect day for an outdoor event like that... not too hot or cold... and must have been over 200 people .. the american legion that my honeys step-dad is a member of hosted the party... and roasted at least 5 pigs (that I saw) burgers, hotdogs, all the works.... they had a band & a DJ... bounce house & a dunk tank for the kids ... I was very impressed how great of a job they did... and was most likely a good fund raiser too

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

uuummmm, roast pig (drooling like Homer Simpson) ... love it! sounds like a lot of fun.

Jan:

I love your killdeer story. How fortunate you are. I've seen them around the lake, but I've never seen a nest. I guess they hide them pretty well.

Thanks for the kind words on the phlox. I really like them. I'm wanting to add 'Candy Stripe', but I have to ask my DD about that.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great shots, Jan - and welcome back! Keep those great shots coming. Coral Reef is gorgeous.
