I planted this under a Japanese Blood Maple Tree in NY a couple weeks ago. I've been told it's impossible to grow anything under this tree, but a friend told me it's growing really well under his, so I tried it. I have two questions. Should I mulch around it? And how often should I be watering it. The ground has been drying out really fast even thought it hasn't been very warm yet. Should I water it every day and how much? There are always a few new yellow leaves every day. I really want to make this work. Thank you.
newly planted vinca minor groundcover
Gotta say it: Vinca minor is an overplanted invasive species. I've been trying for months to eradicate it in my yard. You might want to look up more info on it online & consider pulling it up before it becomes established.
Yes, I would use some mulch but I wouldn't go to heavy. You may have to water every other day till it is established. When did you plant it?
