Ah, but those lilacs smell so heavenly. I have my window open today and the perfume is just lovely.
But, I have to be careful when I walk under our lilac. It sounds like a beehive!!
Spring Blooms part 11
Louise.....looks like it won't be long for those peonies(?) behind the globe flower to burst open too!
Very beautiful all!
Louise, if your trollius is europaeus (pale yellow), I'll trade some "Prairie Queen" (more golden) for some of yours. Let me know.
Wha, are you having a problem with Jackmanii? Could it be slugs or snails on the shoots? they were sawing off rather large stems on my emerging mallows. Killed the whole plants after repeated years of feasting. I have a new 'Texas Star' that is away from food sources and I am diligent about baiting. The piles of shells are impressive and that's not counting the unseen slugs. My Jackmanii survived last year's new teething dog (barely), so will not be impressive.
Laurel
Victor, nice pitures by the way and im not sure of the iris's name..could be 'Jewel Baby'.
I've never smelled a lilac. I feel so deprived.
Laurel
Celeste - "pee-on"...LOL!! Too funny!! Yes, that peony, and all of my other peonies are close to popping. I really love them! My DH had a soft pink one that had been in his family for many generations, and we moved it here to the farm to stay for good. It is lovely and dainty, and I love the contrast next to the magenta one that is also about to pop.
Laurel - my Trollius is Lemon Queen. This is only its first year in bloom. My DH gave it to me last year for Mother's Day, along with some Thermopsis (Carolina Lupine) that is right next to the Trollius. The trollius seems to like being a part of the Friendship garden.
Celeste - in this shot of my new garden fence (Mother's Day gift from my DS) the daylilies you can see came from you.....thanks again! Can't wait to see them in bloom!
fantastic pictures all!
Victor..... if i'm ever over in your area can I come and take pictures from your walkway?!!
Donnie, I'm so glad that you finally have blooms to take pictures of. I would've died in anticipation by now.
Laurel you really must find a Lilac and smell it! They're definitely worth it.
one of my noid (most of them are for me) iris's.
So, are any of the earlybirds up yet?
I'm up RC, The rose might be About Face.
Lovely photos all.
Wow, I think that you got it already Venu, you must know your roses!! thanks. and Good morning!
I think that I may have to track down one of those rose bushes. The more that I think about it, the more it's growing on me.
I'm up too
Good morning all.
I'm not familiar with flower termsRedchick--what is a Noid?
Lovely color Eleanor - might have to get that one.
Jo Ann.....I finally figured out what "noid" ment a week or two ago over in hosta forum. I was feeling really out of it there for a while. :-p
Noid = No id (identifcation)
hey Phoeb.... great clematis. I think that's one that I was going to post a picture of but decided not to because I figured that I had enough "nameless" varieties for the day already!
I thought Noid was a slang for something or a variety. Guess it referrs to any no name plant. Thanks for thr id.
Now I wont
be over typing.
I sort of thought that too. I didn't put it all together until I had been in several forums at the same time and realized that there just couldn't be that many plants named "noid"!
