My friend gave me a clipping of this plant and I put it directly into a pot and it grew nicely last year. I put it inside over the winter and it lost its leaves. Now it is coming back but I still don't know what it is. He called it a "copper tree" but he has no gardening experience and I don't believe that is right. Any ideas?
What plant is this?
Your friend is right about the name...it does look like Euphorbia cotinifolia aka Caribbean Copper Plant. The foliage should turn more bronze as the weather heats up.
It's in the PlantFiles if you want to read up on it and see more pictures.
