yellow leaves on newly planted plants

I purchased tomato, cucumbers, squash, and pumpkin plants last weekend at a nursery. I just got to put them in the ground this weekend. However, the edges of the leaves have turned yellow, and the leaves on the tomato plants seems to have gotten smaller. I kept them watered untiil I could get them planted. What has caused this.
