Zinnia seedlings
Paul, perhaps you should be a writer for DG, this was great! And trust me, we've all been there. I just pulled a bunch of weeds in my veggie garden to get ready to plant my cukes, but I can't find my seeds. Hmmm, could I have planted them already and just pulled them up?
Very cute story. Do you need some more seeds or should I even ask?
cathy, Hey we're all writers for DG, just some of us write on the left side of the page and some the right......:)
But thanks, no joke I would like to perhaps if they needed some more folks to write something....My stuff is not "how to's" or "what's this", my little stories are more like, "lord help me, how did I get myself into this mess?"......:)
cathy, one more suggestion for you and other folks like you and me.....In a tight, the produce department for all our veggie needs......:)
Just kidding of course about that, but after I tasted my first homegrown tomato, I wouldn't take home tomatoes from the grocery even if they gave them to me along with a dozen cans of Cheese Whiz......:)
Smokey...So glad you enjoyed the story and no I don't need any seeds but thanks for asking....I have separated myself completely for all time from zinnias.....The thought of my embarrassment is too much to relive......:)
One other thing Smokey.....I'm Piedmont, Alabama and I'd appreciate it if you would just give me my town back, I didn't even know it had moved to South Carolina, must have done it last night, I haven't been to town today.......:)

We have a Piedmont in Missouri, too.
Well cathy I sure wish Piedmont would make up its mind......:)

Paul, haven't you ever heard the saying,' When You Snooze You Lose?' You might should stay awake tonight.
Smokey
Well I'm here at our cottage in Cleveland, GA this weekend. It's considered the Piedmont too. Does that count? I think we can assume that pied (foot) and mont (hill) means that we are all in about the same place in Appalachia? I know from our property that Piedmont=workout!
Laurel
Smokey, just forget it.......I moving to Checkloslavakia.....take that Smokey and cathy.......:)
Laurel, you are not being helpful but never the less, didn't you get the memo about me moving to Checkloslavakia?.....:)

Paul, I thought we were friends :). Will it be helpful if I send you the five gallon bucket of saved tall mixed zinnia seed sitting in the shed? I'm out of space to broadcast more zinnias up and down this end of the Piedmont. If it's weeds you seek...I can spare a few of those! Thanks for more good writing.
Laurel
laurel we are friends.....but not close friends since I moved to Checkloslavakia, I mean have you looked at a map lately?......:)

I agree that you should write for the DG newsletter. Not everything should be serious--we all need at least one good dose of laughter every week! Still enjoying your stories, Paul.

NatureLover.....It would be fun and I'd enjoy doing something like that....You want to know what I do for a dose of laughter sometimes?.....I walk into a nursery and see a beautiful plant, before I know what's happening the plant's in my car, now I get home look at my border areas and think about where in god's name I can possibly put this thing so it can grow to its full potential, you know have the room it deserves.....When I do that and see the absurdity of trying to put even one more plant in my beds, I start laughing......but sometimes, and let this just be our little secret, I start crying.......:)
Paul from Alabama.....
LOLOL! Almost every time I go to a nursery, some darn plant or another manages to follow me home! What's a gardening fool to do?
NatureLover, wake up....there's only one intelligent, common sense thing to do.....give in.....:)

Well Paul, why do you think I have so many trees and flowers in my yard?!?!
And Paul, why do I have bulbs coming up that I have no memory of planting - I'll bet they were on clearance late last winter. Poor little bulbs are going to be pitched if no one buys them. Save them! Save them!
This is my first post. I had to respond to cathy4 in St. louis where I live as well. i so relate to your thread about pulling weeds that may have been the cukes you'd just sewed.as i'm getting my first nasturtuim blooms this past week I'm reminded of when I first started gardening 20 years ago and pulled up all my nasturtium sprouts thinking they were weeds.
Is there a special forum for ADD gardeners?
That is too funny, welcome to Dave's. You will find many of us have ADD when we go out in the yard.
krfleet welcome to Dave's.....ADD is welcome here.....:)
