Todays bloom from Hatsu Arashi, hope I spelled it right.

And a few more. Tomorrow my Plum Surprise has another bloom to open but the flower seems like it might be smaller. The first seed bud fell off & didn't take. The vine seems to finally start to grow.

Beautiful blooms Helena.

Helena, great flowers! Hatsu Arashi is my favorite. I'm waiting for mine to start putting out leaves. We've had a cold spring.

Gautier, MS

I wasn't able to post friday when my Plum Surprise had it's 3rd bloom but it turned out to be a lot more plain. Hope the next bloom is more like the first & 2nd bloom.

The lable on this bloom says it's Plum Delight from Emma.

Can someone help me find the MG Plant Files, I'd like to check out the pictures. Thanks.

Helena - Beautiful blooms! It seems some of mine have gorgeous blooms the first and second blooms and then the blooms change and never look like those first few again. I don't know why that is.

You can go here to see all the morning glories listed in the plantfiles. Just be aware that there may be some that are not correctly listed under the right cultivar. But I think most are cleaned up now. I think Ron was trying to get the plantfile database corrected for the MG files.

Helena . . .

Great Blooms -
Every single one is so pretty.

I haven't looked but I'm pretty sure Plum Delight is not yet set up in the plantfiles, so I will D-Mail you a link where you can see my blooms from last year. The Foliage was almost as pretty as the blooms.

Thank you Becky, I did get to see the 13 pages of MG's on Plant Files. Becky, I think your MG'S are awesome!!

Thank you also Emma, I am enjoying the blooms as they open each day. I am still going to get some of mine into the ground, I think they'll do better.

Helena

The other day I had another pretty bloom from Emma's gift mix. Do you recognize it Emma?

Helena - I, too, grew Rebecca for the same reason ... only it is MY name! LOL! My blooms looked a little different than yours:

All of them are outstanding! Looks like the MGs are rolling out the red carpet in your garden! So beautiful!

Here's my Rebecca from last year. Hope they come up again this year. I planted a few seeds from last year's mix.

I liked the pink in this gray haze.

Wow that is weird about the blue streaks. It doesn't look anything like either the red or blue one I grew.

Pretoria, South Africa

Helena,
I just love your pink and gray haze...

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Helena - Oh my! Aren't those just beautiful?!!! Congrats on all your lovely blooms! That pink and gray haze is just too cool! :-)

Gautier, MS

Thanks Joseph, Elsa & Becky. I love the surprises that open pollinated bring. I also learned my lesson about having 2-3 vines in one pot for a more full look.

This is the solid one Joseph.

The lable on this one said "kagayaki" from a trade. Any one hear of it? It was a small lavender bloom with strippes.

Hi Helena,

The one here
http://pics.davesgarden.com/pics/helenahkh_1215274084_737.jpg
looks like a lavender variant of what likely started out as "Heian no Kagayaki"...

Deciphering the hand written Romaji into what it most likely represented takes some time and familiarity with matching syllables and most likely 'original' western letters...

The photos currently in the PlantFiles look like blizzard types other than kagayaki to me...the kagayaki blizzard seems to most usually produce a very 'rigid' type of striping that does not vary as much as the ' looser ' patterned blizzards...though variations are certain to occur in all of the various blizzards...

All of your flowers are outstanding and particularly healthy looking...

All beauties Helena, but I love the pink bloom in your post # 5199000 above,
dated 7-03

Gautier, MS

Thanks Ron for the info. I'm really happy with the blooms I've gotten. Now just hope for lots of seeds.

Thanks Jackie, I like that one too from Emma's pink blizzard. I have others vines that not bloom yet. Seems like a long waiting period.
