Thank you everyone. The envelope of seeds said Rose silk or other. I think it's the other!! I have 2 other with same lable. Does it resemble the plum blooms at all?

Becky it has at least 4 colors. The center is pink, pinkish purple going into the stars, a dark blue or purple( hard to tell) between the star, lighter blue purple and white edges.

Gautier, MS

Pretty bloom Sylvia!

I went looking for the envelope of my mg's. Found one from Emma's gift mix that says it could be Plum Frost, Rose Silk Shibori or new this year Jordin Rose.

So thank you so much Emma, the first bloom is beautiful!!!

Helena,

The flower reminds me of the silk scarfes that used to be in fashion a few years ago. Absolutely out of this world!

It is lovely and reminds me of a tie dye shirt!

All the credit goes to Emma!! I think it's gorgeous too!!

This mornings bloom, I think I'm going to have learn how to hand polinate to get seeds. I'm going on a trip to visit my oldest daughter and grandkids, I think I'm going to have to miss some blooms. I almost hate to leave!! Daughter in law will do some watering for me.

You've got it going on there, Helena! Beautiful, beautiful blooms! I know what you mean about leaving your bloom babies to go away. It would be VERY hard for me to do that as well. I love to get up in the morning and go right outside ... in my pajamas and all ... and be inspired by the new blooms of the day! Kinda puts everything into perspective ... doesn't it? :-) Life is good!

Hi Helena,

You are very welcome. China Doll is still one of my favorites.

Helena, Oh My!
This one is most definitely something that crossed and is probably from my Plum Frost.

I would LOVE to have a few seeds of this one to see what it continues to do.
Be sure to mark that pod to collect separately.
Now, I'm curious to see what the other blooms will look like.

You are welcome Sylvia,
This is a Purple Hige and surely from a seed got mixed in with the Reds

Hi Emma, I sure hope it will make seeds. I'll be sure that you get some. It has another bloom to open tomorrow and I'm taking it with me so I get to see the bloom & take a picture. I'll post it when I get back. Thank you again Emma.

Sylvia - What a beatiful deep color on your Hige Akahige, Red Feathered! I love it! Very elegant!

Sylvia, lovely dark hige.

Helena, gorgeous blooms.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Your Chachamaru bloom is very pretty. I have seen it a dark pink.

I have tried unsuccessfully to grow several seeds at different times of Chachamaru, but no germination luck. :-/

Gautier, MS

I took my mg with me & was able to take pics of the second bloom.

Oh my gosh! Those are really some rare beauties you got there, Helena! WOW!

Gautier, MS

Becky, I do enjoy having my coffee first thing in the morning & checking out the blooms. The first time I tried Chachamaru last year My seeds didn't germinate. I guess I was lucky this year. I had 3 blooms today.

Helena,

Wow; such beauty from a Morning Glory.

I used silk Morning Glories in my wedding boquet, on our cake and in all of the decorations, including the heart decorations that my bridesmaids carried.

Needless to say, I love Morning Glories but I've never seen such pretty ones as when I joined DavesGarden. WOW...these pics are just outstanding.

I love the blue/purple one that everyone's talking about. It reminds me a Watercolor Painting of a sunset.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Gorgeous blooms Helena.

Helena, put me on your trade list for seeds of this one!!!!
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5060857

Gautier, MS

Thank you everyone. I hope I'll have more surprises this year. Still have lots more to flower yet. Will do Joseph.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

I'd love to do a trade with you as well if you get enough seeds to share. :-)

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Ok, I'm on the list after Becky!

Pretty please...I'd love to grow the one without a known name that looks like a Watercolor painting w/ purple and blue. If you have extra seeds, I'd love to trade for something. I have a few Black Barlow Columbine seeds...
If not, that is okay. Thanks!

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

they are both gorgous.

Gautier, MS

Thanks everyone. I'll be watching for the seeds & hope it produces lots of them. I think I'm going to start more seeds, maybe I'll get more surprises.

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Helena,

Good idea to grow the rest of the seeds from that mix.

There is a very good chance that you 'may' have gotten that entire seed pod - meaning you may get something else very similar if not the same. The thing that I will never know is if I sent all of that particular mix to you, or did I send some of that same mix to someone else as 'Gift Seeds'.

You sure did get the lucky draw with this baby.
I can't wait to see what the seeds from it will produce.

The other two possibilities will also be beauties.
In fact, I hope you got some seeds of the Rose Silk Shibori. I can't wait to see if that one remains 'True'.

Keep those photos coming . . .

Emma

Gautier, MS

Emma,

I don't think I got all the seeds from that mg b/c 2 of them have variagated leaves & one doesn't. These 2 should be flowering soon so we'll find out for sure. I can't wait to see what I have!!

I nil todays bloom.
