WOW! So pretty!
Helena,
Great Solid Chocolate
Way to go!
Emma
Emma!! So very glad to see you here!
Thank you Emma and all. I love seeing the blooms first thing in the morning. Had another solid chocolate silk this morning but it's going to be a bit longer for the others to bloom.
Thank you Melanie and Sylvia. . .
Sylvia, your 'Sunspot' turned out perfect!
Emma
Welcome back, Emma! Was wondering when you were coming back to join us and show us your newest cultivars! I know you have some good ones growing right now! :-)
Emma!!!! We missed you!!!
Thanks Joseph. Yes, I would also love to see the beautiful MG's that Joseph and Emma grow!!
Hi Emma. Please send pics soon. We've been trying to wait
patiently. lol
Thanks so much Joseph, Becky, Nichole and Jackie . . .
It will be a little while before I have any new blooms. I've had way too much going on and was also late getting many of my MGs started. So, I won't be here very much until later in the year.
Emma
Hi Joseph,
They are probably Blue Star. If you haven't grown these before, you will love them. The Blue Star seeds that I had were a beige color.
Emma
Helena - The Fujishibori is just beautiful! As is the Solid Chocolate Silk.
Does that particular flower pattern come in other colors like pink or blue as well?
Helena - didn't mean to sidetrack your thread! The fujishibori is very pretty! I too have seeds for that one, and may just start a few af them this weekend!
Hi Becky, thanks. That was the very first flowers on both plants. I was surprised by the pattern on the Fujishibori so I'm watching for the next bloom and color. I have 3 plants in the same pot & that one seems much bigger plant. Yesterday I went out and bought the fish emulsion & bloom booster!!
Helena - You go girl! I don't know how big your pot is, but sometimes one vine will take over and dwarf the others. Some MGs have some pretty big root systems and need a pot all to themselves! But separating and transplanting them now might possibly kill them ... so enjoy your bouquet of MGs! They are just lovely!
Karen (bluespiral) shared some "Shibori" seeds with me. I have one growing now. I hope this is a similar vine as your Fujishibori. I just love those freckles all over the blooms! :-)
Emma - another big welcome back - nice to see you again.
Becky, Emma's Shibori was one of my favorites and I've been wondering which cultivar it might be. The earliest flowers on your seeds' parent vine looked like the one on the right in the attached pic, but later on in the season, flowers like the one on the left showed up. Both flowers in the pic are on the same vine in late September '08. It looks like the vine was simultaneously throwing flowers of both Tie Dye and Lilac Luster - amazing.
I'd love to have an ID for this one.
Apologies for the ratty pic of such a gorgeous vine
Helen, where are my manners? Very nice to meet you. As a pro of ratty pics, I can really appreciate well done ones like yours - hope you keep 'em coming.
No apologies needed Syrumani and Karen, it turned out to be a interesting thread. I use to hear about Emma's MG's on another forum so I was happy when I finally found her. I like taking pics of my mg's to have for a record, I don't see anything wrong with your picture Karen. I probably will need ID's on quite a few of them!

Looks like it may have been from my Blue Tie Dye. My blooms were both Blues and Purples.
Emma
Helena - those are unusual (but pretty!) blooms!
Helena - You are getting some gorgeous blooms! Those last two bloom photos are very interesting. What are the colors on those blooms?

Thank you Emma - am sending you dmail
Helen, the surprises and sleuthing might make flowering these beauties 2x or 3x the fun
I have a while to go yet before I can become more active on DG - not to worry
Helena, Love that wild and crazy bloom, it's a knock-out.
