Welcome to Beautiful Bell Gardens! Doesn't that sound like a tasty place for a gardener?......or there's always....

Hawthorne!........yeah....it's even named after a plant. How about Downey?.....doesn't that sound soft and cuddly?

Woodland Hills and Canoga Park are guaranteed to get your Plumeria blooming, probably just from the uric acid.

But best of all is the beautiful City of Commerce.

Not at all trailer-trashy, yet you may need the Rosetta Stone to speak the dialects.

Heat means Simi Valley......mmmmmm I can just smell the landfills ripening.

Or there's always Silverlake......Home of the Drive-by Nagging.

Lynnwood and Inglewood are always great places to do some pruning.

But few places can compare to the sartorial splendor and tropical breezes of Hawaiian Gardens.

I love L.A.!

Clearly you haven't seen the luxury lofts in the garment district...

hiya Mike,

Clearly.....I haven't. I've as yet to explore the land of Taffeta.

The Blackbeard Olympics.........put on by the Wilmington Jaycees.

A bunch of us decided to enter a team back in the late 80s. We called ourselves the Raleigh Hills Dropouts. We got our hats handed to us by more experienced teams the first year, but put together a lovely string of championships in the early 90s. We out drank, out egg-tossed, out everything-ed all those smog-breathing rascals for what turned out to be a dynasty. Right up until we allowed a woman's team to join us on our annual pilgrimage. They called themselves "Penalty for Early Withdrawal", and not a single one of them worked at a financial institution.....go figure.

We lost that year........could have been all the yellow flags.

I have fond memories of fifty yard egg tosses in the shade of an oil pump. Wilmington......only a memory away.

zonaken, have a nice life.....this has been a slice.

Just wondering about our new friend Ken. Did he ever find a place and move out here to S. Calif.? He kinda dissapeared after he started this thread. Do you think we scared him away??? lol

Hey Ken or Ray, check in please. :-)

Thanks Marie.

I was wondering too, nobody can sell their homes now unless they have been in the home for 30 years.
