I recently planted some monarda in my garden. Some of the leaves are turning brown at the tips and the edges of the leaves are curled. Is this a disease problem?
Brown spots on monarda leaves
This sounds like a cultural problem to me. It could be not enough water, and the plant is drying out. Or it could be too much water and the roots are rotting, and therefore not working to uptake water for the plant. Or it could be caused by over-fertilization.
Which do you think it is?
It's definitely not an issue of over-fertilization, nor of too much water. The problem may be one of lack of water, although I planted four plants -- 2 Bluestocking monarda and 2 Raspberry monarda -- and the 2 Bluestocking monarda are doing fine.
