Looks like ruellia> http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/38180/

It reseeds itself very well and pops up in unexpected places. I think of it as a wildflower, just like>

Yes, it resembles "dwarf" ruellia (Katie?), but I found out that it's Marine Bells, Browallia. I believe there is a link on davesgarden.com

The standard Ruellia, or Mexican Petunia as people here call it, is quite invasive.......

Ruellia squarrosa is the link I meant to send http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1326/

I grow Browallia as a bedding plant, they are always a true blue. Your plant seems to be purple in color and the leaves are different from browallia.

I am in a hurry, but there are white, blue, and purple varieties. Speciosa, americana and ?

This is from a website:

"This plant produces distinct, 2-inch blossoms primarily in rich blue (but also in shades of purple and white), with dark eyes smudged white. It is suitable for sun and partial shade."
