All purpose fertilizer

Louisville, KY

Hi ya'll. I am getting overwhelmed again :-) I have planted so much new stuff in the past year and I am driving myself crazy trying to get a handle on when to feed what, and how and when to prune what etc....
I have a big container of miracle grow all purpose fertilizer. Its a granular 10-10-10 and says it feeds for up to 4 months. Is it generally OK to put this on everything I have in my yard every few months or am I wasting my time?

Follow label directions! I can't state this enough. What plants are you wanting to feed?

You could get all the info on fertilizing and plant maintenance right here on Dave's I'm sure, but if now or in the future you'd like to have a book about those things, herbaceous perennials anyways, Tracy DiSabto Aust's, "The Well-Tended Perennial Garden: Planting & Pruning Techniques" is a great resource...if you think of doing so make sure you get the revised 2006 edition....also "Caring for Perennials: What to Do and When to Do it" by Janet Macunovich is a worhwhile read for sure, maybe just get them from your library and if you like'em a bunch...get'um......
